Last time I was in Wildwood was June, 1998. I'm not sure I can stomach it to go back now. No Castle Dracula, Golden Nugget closed, a lot of doo-wop motels gone, Nut Hut gone, the Fun Houses on Morey's gone, Photon building gone, alot has changed since 1998. In my opinion the Wildwood of the 20th century was better than the Wildwood of the 21st century unless great things happen in the future with the new hotels and perhaps more amusements and a new walk-through haunted house.

Robert, if your mom offered to take you down to wildwood this summer, you'd jump at the opportunity in a second. I know you too well.

My last visit to WildWood was last year in September for the Boardwalk Classic Car Show, the same weekend as The Irish Festival I beleive. I will be visiting over Mothers' Day Weekend plus the Car Show. My Corvairs & (1980) Malibu are waiting for my attention which will be a while and a S-L-O-W process in my circumstances.

my last time in wildwood was last october to pickup the articles from the packard motel before it was demolished. it was worth the trip. Some of my friends thought we were crazy to do this, but since they had never been to wildwood, they did not understand.

Last time for me was 2 saturdays ago. The crest was pretty badly stripped. The standing motels never looked so good though. I went there in January too and found it to be depressingly empty compared to when I went down in September, which I guess was the last "Good" month for the Crest because after that it just got destroyed. NWW was getting ripped down too but not as bad. I couldn't remember what many of the vacant lots were. The area up near JFK blvd in NWW seemed the same, maybe because they have more updated larger Motel's. Also Atlantic Ave in Central WW looked pretty good [no evidence of destruction] I saw the WW diner was still up in 2 weeks ago, I thought they were getting rid of it.

Wildwoodjms, that's the problem, there are many people who have never been to let alone heard of Wildwood, so if they go to WW, all they'll see is the boring condo strips, they'll never see the old motels/restaurants. They'll never know the magic that the ex-motel district had because they never had any prior experience with WW. Where are people going to stay during a convention? Oh, the old convention hall from 1971 is gone, too for that modern structure on the beach. All the old structures are vanishing left and right. It's just making me sicker, week by week with every new demolition.

We were last down in July, last year. We wanted to try to make it down before the "season" started but didn't work out that way.

The last time I was in Wildwood was in 1999 (I believe it was the month of July) with a group of friends staying at the (now demolished) Sands. Who would ever guess then that place would be gone. We had a lot of fun times then and the previous 2 years. My one friend started going there at the age of 3 with her family and went every year. They met other families while staying there and stayed in touch over the years and they made a point to schedule their vacations at the same time. She was recently told that the property was sold and would be replaced by condos. She was very sad about it. My husband and I plan to go down in August for a long weekend. Boy, I am glad I found this website so that way I would be forewarned of the drastic changes, otherwise I would be in for a shock.
