Nifty idea, wanderer... Wildwood High School Warriors - Class of 1969. Hate to admit it but several members of my class are currently helping to run the island... Wildwood High School...Class of '89. To my knowldege, my classmates are running the paint dept. at Home Depot, the produce dept. at SuperFresh and a couple of Wawas. Actually, there are probably a couple of realtors and developers in the bunch...so, in a way, we're running the island, too.

Frank - I think there are a few "Gravity Hills" in the area. We went to one in New Hope. We used to love taking relatives from out of state (I have a slew of cousins in Iowa, Ohio, Texas and California) to the various "gravity hills" to freak them out. Really had a bizarre effect on the West Coasters for some odd reason! ;D

Every one! CD was such a great place to go to school. How about... Mr. Flanagan Mr. Archabold Mr. Sol (I won't even try to spell his actual last name) Ms. McCulsky Mr. Keenan Fr. Kennedy Mr. Yeckley!!! So many great people! Perhaps you knew my brother, Dave. He graduated in 2000, but he was (and still is) a pretty low key guy. If not, I can almost guarantee you knew my mom. She's been a lunch lady at CD since the mid-90s. Awesome coincidence. I wonder how many other members of the forum will find that they have similar backgrounds. Already we have two from Wildwood High and two from CD. This thread was a great idea, wildwanderer!

Al, I had everyone one of those teachers except for Fr. Kennedy and Mr, Sol.....great times man. I remember being sent to 212 with demirits and never going, then going to the deans office in the morning and convincing Mr. Kane that I was there. I'm gonna go home and look in my yearbooks to see if I know your brother. If you're wondering, Ms. Drummand still wears that sling. Everytime I see her she has that stupid thing on. I remember on Garnet and Gold Day Senior Year, she got smacked in the face with a soccer ball cuz she was so busy taking pictures! Good Times!

Al - Although I went to Wildwood High School and am not familiar with most of the Philly schools except by recognizing their names, I have a round-about connection to Cardinal Dougherty. When I played in the WHS band in the 60's, I saw CD's band in a parade competition and was absolutely blown away. At the time, I thought they were the most amazing and powerful band I had ever seen. Fast forward to the early 70's: While I was serving in the Navy Band in Norfolk, Va., I moonlighted as a music instructor for the Kempsville High School Band in Virginia Beach. (280 kids). We competed in a field competition in Winchester, Va. When I saw that "my kids" were going up against CD in competition, my heart sank. How can we beat them, I worried. Last time I saw them, they were the best! Well, my kids blew them away and won first place. ;D Ah, fond memories. Thom

Parkland High School (Allentown, PA) 1992. They built a new high school which opened in 1999 due to our exploding population (people moving in from NY, NJ in droves). There is new housing being built all over in our township. The old superintendent retired the same time I graduated. Alot of old teachers, some that I had retired after 1992 some with 30 or more years of service. FlyingGN, I have a cousin who graduated from Council Rock in 1992, my mother's sister's son. Their daughter graduated a few years later. My mother's sister was from Allentown, but they moved to Newtown in 1979. My church pastor graduated from Council Rock in 1982.
