Monday, May 22nd from 6-9 PM at the Shalimar... If you're a member (any level) of the DWPL, you should have received an invitation... if for some reason you did not receive an invitation, and you are indeed a member, consider yourself invited... Send your official RSVP to dwpl@doowopusa.orgWho from the message board plans on attending?

Thanks, Mike.
I really, really wish I could attend.
Unfortunately, Monday is the one night of the week where I am basically swamped.
I'm going to have to start planning way ahead for next year...
Anyway, to anyone attending, have a great time!

Nice get together, Martin was there, met Doo Wop Mike. The Shalimar is beautifully done, very nicely appointed, retro lamps, convection microwaves, etc. There will be lots of media attention in the next month focusing on the Doo Wop and Wildwood in general. Channel 10 will do a 2 hour shore guide show this Sunday. It should feature lots of Doo Wop.

Sounds like a great get together. I wish I could have been there.
Thanks, re!
Also good to hear that the island will continue to be getting so much media attention.

Nice to see you again Marie, and to meet Mike, and talk with some of the others I knew (and never met before as well). The Dinner was great, and very well attended - I was told we had 104 people. I'm still surprised it was free to all members of the DWPL... I have to give special mention to Marie and Aldo Tenaglia of the Shalimar. Besides all the great work they've done at the Shalimar (which they are to be commended for), they put a lot of work into this event, right down to they and others there preparing most of the food. I'm sure they spent a few $$$ on it too. I'm very happy I spent the last few days there, and was able to support them in some way for hosting the DWPL Dinner, and of course for what they're doing over there in general. They "get it" and deserve your business...

A friend told me that channel 6 did something on Wildwood last night. I wasn't near a TV so missed it. Anyone see it? I missed it also, re. My uncle saw it and told me that it was a general feature on businesses and such on the Boardwalk getting ready for the season (and, I guess, this weekend specifically). He said, though, that they focused on Sam's Pizza a bit, talking about the fire, the rebuilding process and the reopened. Wish I would have caught it!
