Wow--in my area of NY certain stations are charging 3.79 for regular. A local radio DJ called one of these stations and confronted one station---the guy answered--"This is America and I can charge whatever I want!" Unfortunately there are no gouging laws in NY unless we are in a state on emergency.

Gas Prices have actually dropped somewhat in central/southern NJ. I think Regular is below 3 bucks at the local places. The highway gas stations will continue to gouge people and charge more than the local places obviously.

Hi my names Tony from England and you wouldn't believe our prices.
Right now we're paying around about 1 pound a Litre, which 70% is Government Taxes. There's roughly about 3 Litres to the Gallon, it's roughly $1.74 to the Pound, so it's about $5.22 for a Gallon over here. The prices are still rising over here as well. When I left the States seven weeks ago, your price was about $2.40 for a Gallon, so they've risen over there on a par with ours. Does your Government take a big slice of the price over there like ours do?
Take care everyone.

Tony: Weren't the prices over in the UK always pretty high? I always wondered growing up about the modes of transportation that you must choose from. $5.00 a gallon in I think all of our minds is outrageous. How do you get around? I know that we in America love our SUV's (personal luxury buses) and in other parts of the world people are content to drive mini-coopers. Hope all is well otherwise. Wildwanderer.

Hi Wildwanderer, i'm fine thank you and hope to be back in the States in about three weeks. I should have come earlier but had one or two hitches at this end. Regarding the gas prices here, your right, they always have been high here, mainly due to the Government taxes I mentioned above. With the UK being a small Island, our roads are a lot narrower than yours are. So most of our cars are what you call compacts. We do have SUV's or off roaders as they're known over here, but they're not very popular by the normal car users because of their size. When I come back over i'm going to be driving for the first time over there and can't wait to drive on such wide roads. It's so congested over here you wouldn't believe it. I'm coming for my 90 day visa this time so hope to spend more time in Wildwood than I did last time. Is there much to do at this time of year? Sorry if i've asked this before. ;D Take care everyone.

Gas prices are down below 3$ here, even for Premium. I guess the gas companies have no excuse to gouge us right now.

In my area on NY--Dutchess County we are still paying between $2.85-$3.05 for regular. Gouging---stabbing----killing--- all I know is there certainly are people making millions at all of our expenses. And I do believe I heard on CNN that almost all of the oil rigs are operating again. Go Figure!

Tony: WW in the Fall and Winter are definately different than the summer. It's much quieter. You can take quiet walks on the boardwalk, go into Rio Grande and shop, and also visit Cape May. Shopping in Cape May is year round. The Cape is busy all year. Take one of there victorian house tours. Just sit back and enjoy. It's still WW but in a different frame.

Wildwanderer, thanks for those ideas, i'll certainly look into them, I can't wait to get back to WW.
By the way, gas prices here are about the equivalent of $6 a Gallon now. The Government are sure getting richer as we're getting poorer!!!!!
Take care everyone ;D ;D

Is there gas relief in Southern NJ yet? In my county of NY we are still between 2.59 and 2.79 for regular.

I heard there is a station in northern NJ that was selling at $1.98. I found a station in Dutchess County NY that was $2.38--with nice long lines as well!
