Headed down early Monday morning and stopped at the cape may court house diner for traditional ride down breakfast...
Got to the Shalimar too early so we headed to north ww and went on the beach. There was a sand bar that went all the way out probably 200 yards. It was pretty cool.. Got back to the hotel and checked in and unpacked. Saw the Wildwood diner being torn down.. sad.. Room was a bit small but very clean and very nice.. Then headed to the beach. The water was warm and clean!!!!! Then we headed back to the motel and took off for A&LP for steaks! Then we came back, got showered up and headed to the boardwalk.. The night was warm and beautiful. Ice cream at Kohrs.. We saw Anthony and chatted a while with him and had fun watching him scare the crap out of the people coming out of the ride..
Tuesday¡KMy Son and I woke at 5:45 and headed to the beach. What a beautiful time to be on the beach. Wildwood is like a ghost town at that time. We then headed to breakfast at the rooftop Waikiki.. What views..
We hung out at the motel pool for most of the day.. Dinner at Groffs which was excellent as usual. Then did the Doo Wop bus tour which was fun and informative.. Ice cream at hassels..
Wednesday.. Up early with my Son and we took a walk around the crest.. Breakfast at the Admirals quarters in the crest. Hung at the pool for most of the day cause it was a bit windy to be on the beach.. We then got ready for dinner at Little Italy. Excellent dinner.. Then to Duffers challenge for mini golf and ice cream..
Thursday.. up early again and my Son and I walked all the way to the convention center from the Shalimar (which we did every morning so far).. Then to Samuels pancake house in North WW for breakfast.. Went to the beach all day.. Gorgous day¡K Water was beautiful and no flies.. Got back to the hotel to get showered and then we went to Macks on the boardwalk for pizza then then to sunset cinema movie¡¦s movie on the beach. I did not realize that there are TWO movies on the beach. Our Son wanted to see talladega nights and the one near the Strand shows some other movies. We went to the one behind the convention center.. It was a BEAUTIFUL night to sit on the beach and watch a drive in movie..
Friday.. We got to sleep in! yea.. to 8 am.. Went to the Crusader for breakfast on the outdoor deck. Very nice.. Then took a ride to see the hawaiian rumble..This was the first time we have been to the rumble. And are sorry to have not discovered it before. What a neat place.. Game room, restaurant, ice cream and mini golf. Who could ask for more?? LOVED this place¡K I got in a discussion with an employee and this is the story I got.. 5 years ago, a lawyer got one of the 2 owners to sign over the property to a developer for a sale.... The problem is that it was not a legal contract cause BOTH owners did not sign it.. They took it to court cause the developer wanted it. The crooked NWW judge ruled that it would be to much of a HARDSHIP for the developer who had his heart set on buying it!!? Never mind about the hardship for the OWNER!! Then the rumble family took the lawyer to court for what he did and the same crooked judge threw the case out!!!! North Wildwood wants the rumble GONE. Its so sad.. They are so busy and the same family has owned it since the 50¡¦s.. bashards.. They are not sure if and when it will be closed.. They were surprised to have made it to 06.. Then lounged by the pool all day..Then shower time and off to the two mile landing for crabs on the back deck. Wonderful garlic crabs.. Then off to cool scoops for ice cream. Started to talk to Paul Russo(owner) and he was telling me about the Lurae¡K Seems that he was invited to remove any and all of the classic furnishings that was left after the same and it seems the caretaker (A$$HOLE) was so mad at the sale and his loss of employment that he took a sledge to all the mirrors, fixtures and anything inside that could be of value.. Sad.. Watched the Friday night fireworks from the hotel..
Saturday.. sleep to 8 again and to the rumble for breakfast and golf . (doing our best to keep the Rumble alive!) Then to the beach all day!!! Made piles of sand.. ƒº had fun.. Water was gorgous.. Back to the hotel and showered and dinner at Duffys on the lake. I feel that sunset lake is the most beautiful place on the whole island.. Then to the boardwalk and onto the piers to ride the rides.. The boardwalk was packed.. Took a scary ride on the shyride.. lol. Took a trip to see the sand jam. Cool store. Rode the tram¡K played games, won prizes.. etc etc.. Ice cream at kohrs again.
Sunday.. Woke up and got depressed.. Packed and off to breakfast at the Rumble again and another game of golfļ Then checked out and went to the flea market on JFK in north wildwood. Back home..
We did many other things too but I wanted to touch on the highlights here.. Prolly the BEST WW vacation that we have had to date!!
