If the Wildwoods SHOULD be anything....GENERIC is not it. SO true... Fleur de Lis seems to get pretty nice marks on Tripadvisor, I've noticed. I haven't had the chance to stay there, but I did notice during my visits in mid-August and mid-September this year that the neighborhood of the Fleur de Lis still seems to be a relatively cheery area. If I'm not mistaken, you have the Nassau Inn across the street to the south, and in the next block west, the Cape Cod and the Tangiers. When I was walking around there one August morning after breakfast at the Tangiers' Doo Wop Coffee Shop, there were lots of people coming and going in all directions, on foot, on bikes, or in whatever you call those pedal-powered carriage rigs... There were even two of my beloved produce trucks cruising around ;D. In that small slice of the Crest, I could still feel continuity and the sense of a long tradition. (The one negative mental note I've made about the Fleur de Lis is that its pool area, when busy, seems a little noisier than average.)

It's called a Surrey ;D. The man at Bradleys Bikes next to the Oceanview Motel said they are imported from Italy. I believe they are very expensive.

Nothing quite like spending 5 bucks for a peach

My stay at the Fleur De Lis was fine. The hotel was clean, nothing remarkable one way or the other.
The pool area was loud. For some reason there were a lot of people hanging out around the pool and patio area on a consistent basis, not that this is a bad thing but it was frequently loud.
