What is needed is a broader greater civic vision then currently exists in Wildwood. A coalition of developers, restorations, preservations, and both local and federal government would be a good start. Perhaps the definition of museum needs to go expand beyond the four walls of a building and begin to include architecturally unique regions of this country.

well. I know for a fact the owners of the Nomad hotel got over 7 mil for it last fall. That quite a profit for the owners who bought it for 1.7 mil 5 years ago..

Frank I wonder how many years (and how much back-breaking work) it would have taken for the owners of the Nomad to make $7 million. Sad to say, but it was probably a fairly easy decision for them to sell.

Thanks for the link, homer. Much appreciated.
It's amazing (and quite sad) to see the far-ranging effects of the condo boom in the Wildwoods, not just with the mid-century motels, but with the many classic bars and nightclub spots in North Wildwood.
I fear that this is indeed the beginning (or perhaps the gradual continuation) of the end of an era in the Olde New Jersey section, with Shady O's gone, Moore's set to be leveled and Echo's next on the list.
The owner of Moore's was right, sadly. With Cozy Morley and others synonymous with the area long gone, Moore's is more or less the last holdout from an era about to officially come to an end.
With these recent and upcoming changes, what does the future truly hold for that area of North Wildwood? Will any semblance of the bar/nightclub district truly remain after this? What will become of Irish Weekend, one of North Wildwood's top annual attractions?
Many questions, few immediate answers.
As for "The Pointe at Moore's Inlet," I don't know what to make of the rendering sketch that accompanies the story. It is not completely devoid of character like many of the new condos on the island, apparently, but it appears to be much too "ritzy" for the Wildwoods.

What a deal the owners got, seel the property for big $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and they get the new sports bar in the building. You can't blame them, they get a new bar and millions in cash

The sketch of the building looks like it belongs on a major city waterfront, like Baltimore or Philly.
