Well as of Friday morning, I'm leaving for String Band Weekend in WIldwood. After all the years of passing it by, I will be staying at the Panaromic for the first time. We stayed at the Athens for years, but since its conversion, we needed a new place to go, so the Panaromic rented us the entire motel for the weekend.
Irish Weekend is coming up soon and we'll be at the Avalon Motel. I'm really looking forward to staying at these 2 places and having my friends make fun of me for taking lots of pictures

We just returned from our first year at the American Inn. It was very nice but not much goes on there like at the Lurae. We are heading down for the 50's weekend and are staying at the Florentine. Any one know about this place?

Florentine is very nice, but it is strictly a family hotel and we were told cops will be called for ANY noise.

Florentine is very nice, but it is strictly a family hotel and we were told cops will be called for ANY noise. except, of course, during biker weekend, or volunteer fireman's weekend, or any other of the various "theme" weekends where people act like idiots 'til 4AM, and the cops don't say anything at any of the motels because, naturally, the city doesn't want to chase those folks away and lose out on all that easy $$$$$$$. But if they catch the average nameless, faceless tourist riding a bicycle on the Boardwalk at 11:01 AM, they treat him as if he were Lee Harvey Oswald and just committed the crime of the century...

I was told for Irish Weekend that if we made ANY noise we'd have the cops called on us. So that is why I'm staying at the Avalon. NOt that I plan on being unrule, but its our tradition that we sit on our balcony after the bars are done with for then night and we throw back a few. We talk and laugh and joke, and I don't need the cops called on me becuase I was doing what I've been doing for years.

yeah, the time I usually go in June coincidentally overlaps with Polka weekend, and we do the same thing, which is fine.
I'm thinking more of guys popping the clutch on Harley's at 3:30AM, or blowing off fire horns at 4:15AM. who needs that crap. but the cops in my opinion are "ascared" (afraid and scared) to say anything since they don't want to be responsible for the city missing out on the room tax the following year if the scolded party decides not to return. I'm being sarcastic, of course, I really don't think they are afraid, they just basically sit back and let the city burn for those weekends, it seems.

Hey Frank Maybe we will run into each other at the car show and finally meet. We will have a copper, burnt orange colored 1970 AMX (car has a WW connection)
And as for the cops bein ascard. The only weekend they don't make a peep is bike week. Weekend of the car show they are on the cars like flys on shi_.

I agree Jet and I wil be looking for your X. I am NOT bringing the GN down tho.... I could not sleep at night knowing it was sitting outside.. LOL
And you are 100% correct about the cops and biker/car weekend. We go to both and can tell ya that anything goes on bike weekend.. not car weekend..

Hope you'll be giving us a report on the Avalon when you return. I'd like to know more about that place and how it is faring these days (condition, occupancy, amenities, staff attitudes, anything else worth noting...).

You're not getting excited or anything about this trip, are you, Rick? ;D Seriously, have a great time, bro. We're all envious, but we look forward to your reports on the Panoramic and the Avalon. Take lots of pictures (I know you will)!
