;D Write now (just kidding) I'm worried about The Singapore and wonder whether anyone knows what's going on with it? I've seen the listing on the real estate site posted here somewhere. I've been brainstorming on whom to write to ask to save it. I've even thought of writing Donald Trump! (He did own and 'restore' the Plaza in the 90's, which was recently 'rescued' from going all condo (at least they weren't going to demolish it, but the rescue did save much of the public space). It would be helpful to compile a list of people to write to, and put together a packet, complete with real estate listing, images, etc, a sort of PR packet. In any case, I'll be working on this during the summer and, as I said, I'm particularly interested in the fate of the Singapore, so if anyone knows what's going on with it, please let me know. Last time I drove by I saw some construction going on--they were installing THE WRONG KIND OF DOORS...! But I took new doors to be a good omen.

Ya know, it's not a bad idea to write to Donald Trump...He pretty much can do what he wants and since he does own business in atlantic city, it might be in his interest to help save the wildwoods. Plus his show can reach millions...It would be a great apprentice show....

Donald Trump would be an excellent person to start with, why not start at the top???? 8-) This seasons show had Brian McDowell, from North Wildwood on the Networth Team. While Brain is a realtor and developer here, he's also running for Town Council in NWW. His platform is to listen to the "little guy". I can see it now, give the teams the challenge of a marketing campaign to the entice the Motel owners into, upgrading, expanding and/or conversions! We would get nationwide coverage of who we are and promote the DWPL idea. I'm sure someone from DWPL could get Brians feelings about DooWop, see if he would be interested? Certainly worth a shot! Here's his website www.brianmcdowell.com/index.phpre

Last time I drove by I saw some construction going on--they were installing THE WRONG KIND OF DOORS...! But I took new doors to be a good omen. I was at The Singapore last Friday. It is for sale. I am interested in buying it, but I need a deposit... I don't mind the new doors as long as the lattice is removed from the glass (which should come right out), though I still like sliding glass doors better for this purpose. I do like the new colors. The Pagoda needs new shakes - they look past their prime. I don't know the condition of the roof on the long building. The A/C-heat systems look to be toast, but supposedly units that were put in The Grand are being moved over to The Singapore. The bathrooms should be redone IMO, though I would clean up the metal tissue holders in the walls and preserve those (a neat artifact of a time gone by...). The walls on part of the rectangular building have been extended outward some to enlarge the rooms, but still leaving enough balcony space. There is a little snack hut being built close to the beach. There is also a new structure being built for a game room. It still has a few cool little Pagodas poolside. The bridge across the pool is there as well, but needs work (I couldn't resist walking across it though - when I stayed there as a little boy in 1982, I'd go back and forth on it, over and over and over, heh...). The place needs a cleaning. Funky Chic, when is the Caribbean supposed to reopen? I remember a post you made about a Grand Re-Opening party for May 6th IIRC, but after looking around it this past Saturday it looks to me like it won't be ready in time for that. I took a nice walk around the place and came away even more impressed than ever with it. I was just amazed with how perfectly it was designed. It is just flawless to this untrained eye.
