So, any other Hawaiian shirt collectors/wearers out there?
An ongoing springtime inventory of my closets and public storage lockers has thus far revealed that I now have at least 75 in my collection.
I started collecting them about three years ago, when I purchased a nifty-looking shirt with a sunset design (brown, yellow and orange, mostly) from Strawbridges on a whim. I just loved the way it looked, and wanted to have it.
Since that time, I have continued to purchase new and vintage shirts, some dating as far back as the late 50s. I don’t really wear the old ones so much, for fear of damaging them. But, I love displaying them and just keeping them around.
If any of you should ever run into me in the Wildwoods in the summertime (or any other time, for that matter), I can all but guarantee you that I will be wearing some manner of Hawaiian shirtage.
That’s pretty much my wardrobe… hockey jerseys in the fall and winter, Hawaiian shirts in the spring and summer!

Al,
You should try to meet Jack Morey sometime...The guy lives in those Hawaiian shirts! It's like his trademark down here.

Jack and I must be kindred spirits... ;D
It gets to the point in the summer that If I'm not wearing a Hawaiian shirt on a given day, the other people at my place of work start questioning me.

My husband has over 50 shirts in his collection! The coolest are the vintage ones from the 50's. eBay is a great place for finding them! I have a few vintage Hawaiian dresses, also.

If I designed Hawaiian shirts i'd make one with all the Hawaiian themed motels of WW. Or a shirt with all the old motel signs at night as a pattern.

I live in Hawaii; how many shirts do you want?? What do they call "Hawaiian" shirts in Hawaii, Nance? Are they "Aloha" shirts... or just... "shirts?" ;D

Funny, funny, funny! They're just plain old Hawaiian shirts, I guess. Everywhere you go; dresses, shirts, skirts, shorts, shoes; you name it. I mean, just how many different designs can you make??
