Being of Italian American background, I've pretty much had my fill of Italian food during my life and I rarely if ever go to any restaurant in the Wildwoods that specializes in Italian food these days - except for perhaps Pizza. But ask anyone about food and they will all swear that the place they frequent is "the best" - something I've found to be usually NOT the case, especially when it concerns Italians and the expectations they demand in Italian food.
I will mention one worthy place that my family and I have been going to since the first day it opened and that's Theresa and Tony's Ravioli House located at New Jersey and Bennett Ave in Wildwood. Although it's clean and well organized inside, it's not a fancy place... But that's not what they specialize in anyway - its their food!
While I will never go so far as to swear they have "the best" Italian food in the Wildwoods, they certainly do serve up a traditional menu of quality Italian food that should be tried if anyone gets the chance - plus a lot of the food is still prepared by Ms. Theresa herself, including their "specialty" the home-made ravioli. It also helps that they have recently added "take out" since the wait can be lengthy during the summer season.

Never tried there Ant but we have ate last year at Little Italy and was pleasently surprised. My wife is Italian so 'we' can be very picky about Italian food too .. We will have to try ther Rav house this summer.. Thanks for the tip!l

My significant other is also of Italian descent and holds any dish of Mediterranean origin to standards quite higher than my own (hey, I appreciated great food, but I’d also be more than thrilled to bust open a can of Spaghetti-Os on most nights!).
I’m always looking for great, authentic Italian restaurants to try to impress and genuinely satisfy her taste buds. We were going to hit Little Italy last year, but wound up somewhere else instead.
Thus, I will gladly take Frank’s recommendation on that, and Anthony’s tip about the Ravioli House for this coming summer as well…<br> Thanks, guys!

I would go to the Ravioli House every year on vacation!
I was just about to write a post about it.

The food at the Ravioli House was great. One problem though, we have 2 small children. The waitstaff did not appreciate the fact that we had small children with us. The literally took my wifes plate from her to wrap it up and get us out. I was appalled. This year we are going to try Little Italy.

That's funny you mention that...I got the same sort of "treatment" at Little Italy back in June 2002. But the food was pretty good so it didn't matter to me all that much.
It's not all that uncommon for the waiters and waitresses to get that type of attitude during the summer season at various places in and around the island, although it is not right and it certainly is NOT professional at all. It gives an establishment a bad name regardless of how the food is.
Any time that happens try to bring it up to the mangers or owners in a dignified way. I've seen too many patrons come across like real jerks and that gets you nowhere.
I know Theresa (the owner) at the Ravioli House dislikes rude employees and I've seen her actually "correct" any problems brought to her attention pertaining to her staff IMMEDIATELY on more than just a few occassions over the last thirty years.

The secret to having a succesful business is to give each customer your 100% attention no matter how busy you are and how long it takes to satisfy there needs. If you can do that and your food is half decent you will be very very succesful!!!

While it was unfortunate that "nyjay" had to experience what he did with his family, the Ravioli House is and has long been one of Wildwoods more successful restaurants over the last three decades...I would tend to believe that they know the secret of success perhaps more so than a lot of other places that will probably be long gone while they are still there.
