I met the old owner of uncle lous over the summer. He was very relaxed and you could tell they did very well with the selling of there property.

Here is a postcard of the Hotel Adelphi-Witte. The back reads:Atlantic and Pine Aves. American and European Plans Elevator - Restaurant I beleve the Hotel part of the building burnt down and the restaurant went on. Here is a shocker you might not know, Uncle Lou was Lou Morey. AC

Anthony,very interesting! I never would have thought Uncle Lou's was named for Lou Morey. Did he own the building/hotel at one point? I would love to hear the history, re

I believe he did own it. I found the article on the micro film archives at the museum by chane one day. If i can find it again I will post more about it.

Geez, all those old buildings had a history behind them. The new condos do not other than the embarrassment of allowing the development to happen unchecked. Almost every old building they talk about here that has been demolished is replaced with condos. Did investors all of a sudden discover Wildwood within the last four years and make big offers to all the ma and pa businesses to sell? I wonder if people's taxes are going sky high with all this development and high property values?

interesting Anthony.. I can see the restaurant on that pic.. The whole first floor was Uncle Lous.. wow.. Never knew Low was Lou Morey.. thank you for the info..

That was an interesting postcard seeing the hotel atop uncle lou's. Even in its dying days that place still made good pancakes.
