Does anyone know what the Beach Colony Motel in WWC used to be?

Phew no clue, these questions make my brain hurt! But I do enjoy learning about Wildwoods history.

It was the GOLDEN NUGGET MOTEL...In fact, the phone number has remained the same after all these years for when the building was the GOLDEN NUGGET MOTEL and now the BEACH COLONY... 609-522-4037.

Very good Anthony! I loved the Golden Nugget's huge neon sign and their use of colored lights over each room. Looked like a little slice of Vegas. I give the Beach Colony a lot of credit (being so small and in the thick of condoization) for hanging in there so long!

Anthony...one more thing, how on Earth did you find out the phone number has remained the same? What are your sources...I mean you are one informed guy!

Eunice: The fact is that I did not just find out the phone number...I pretty much have a near photographic memory for all kinds of numbers and can pretty much recall many of the phone numbers and addresses of a great many businesses (past and present) in the Wildwoods that became familiar to me over the last thirty years or more.

I have the strange ability to remember innate facts that will never, ever be of any use to me (or anyone else) whatsoever. My fiancé, meanwhile, always keeps all the “important stuff” locked away and available when needed.
I do remember what I had for dinner last night, but it took me a good 5-10 minutes to confirm it in my mind. So, I'm with you there, Frank.
Anthony’s ability to recall addresses and phone numbers of long-lost motels and other businesses of the Wildwoods is just uncanny. Very, very impressive.
As for the Golden Nugget, I had always heard about that motel, but wondered if it ever truly existed.
There was, of course, a motel by the same name in Atlantic City at one time. And I believe there is still one in Vegas. Plus, there was/still is (?) the classic amusement ride on Hunt’s Pier.
I always guessed that the above facts somehow got twisted to the point where people believed that there was a Golden Nugget Motel somewhere in the Wildwoods, when, in reality, there never was.
It’s interesting to learn that I was wrong on that one.
Now I know... and knowing is half the battle! ;D
