I think I have seen all the wildwood sites and have only seen one or two photos of the indoor Carousel in what became the wax museum by castle dracula. My father had a "picture on a button" stand in that building from about 1971-1976. I can still hear the carousel music. Lots of memories but though he took pictures of other people we have very few pics of inside that building or his stand.
If I remember correctly there was an old Mrs. Kelley who owned at least part of the place but still worked the ticket booth next to our stand.
Also inside were a couple kiddie rides and a back entrance to the old wooden roller coaster that was there before castle dracula.
Any one remember this?

I remember it like it was yesterday! I too can hear the music...and it had a unique timber smell with a hint of tar and waffles . I assume you grew up in Wildwood if your dad had a stand on the boardwalk. What stories you must have!

The George F. Boyer Museum and Wildwood Historical Society has many photos, and even the music on a CD of the Merry Go Round. They also have log books from Cedar-Schellenger corp. that tell you what the weather was for the day, who was running the ride, how much they were paid. They even have one photo of the indoor Kiddie Land you speak of. The museum is located at 3907 Pacific Ave.

I also have great memories of this, especially the afternoon sessions during the summers of 66,67,68 when I was the operator there, used to give the Khors girls free rides for custard cones, had to work on the main pier in the evenings either in kiddy land(the cars at the front of the pier) or on the salt and pepper shaker ride that was on the back of the pier.
My greates time was in 67 when a gentleman from Germany came over and got the old caliopy working on the carousel. Will never forget all the wonderful people that came and rode on it.

I have quite a few photos of myself riding the carousel. It was a great experience. The music, lights, and the real wood floor. The beautiful artwork on the sides at the top. I always looked forward to that first of many rides.
