I was really sad to see that the Shell Shop in North Wildwood was demolished. I used to love to go in there and see all the wild stuff they used to make out of shells. I really do miss the old Wildwood.

Where was this store located? I don't remember it. Was it recently destroyed and was it active up until not long before it was demolished?

It was in anglesea mmm. Just as you came onto north ww on the right. Now there is a liquor store there. In fact its the same owner who had the shellshop now has the liquor store. For a while they had all the old leftover stock from that neat store for sale in the liquor store too.. It was be sadly missed. We always stopped in there as a child every ww vacation as the 'opening' to our beloved ww vacation:)

Bubba's is not where the Shell Shop was located. They are across Spruce from each other. Bubba's been there at least 10 years I guess? My understanding is that the folks that own Bubba's bought the Shell Shop property, razed it and built the Big River Fish Company. Yes they had some Shell Shop stock for sale in the liquor store. Schellenger's on Atlantic Ave. in Wildwood bought alot of the stock and displays it in the restaurant and of course on top of their building. So part of the Shell Shop lives on. re

I think I've only left the Wildwoods 3 or 4 times through North Wildwood, and have never come in that way. The last time I've ever "done" anything in that area, it was going to dinner at Ed Zaberer's with family (obviously that's been a while! ) , so except for maybe passing through a few times since then, I don't know the Anglesea area too well.

It used to take hours -- literally hours -- to drag my mom and grandmom out of the Shell Shop! My uncle and I still shutter in a joking way when we reminisce about it. The memories are all good!

Thanks MVOCAL for the Shell Shop Pic. We always went there after dinner at Zaberer's or Captain Mac's. Do you have any more pics?? I am desperately looking for one of the motel Paradise Cove. It was demolished a few years ago. Thanks !
