Again, I’m probably a bit too young and way too unfamiliar with his material to comment on the alleged “racial” nature of Cozy’s material.
From the little I’ve heard (all on old tapes my grandfather collected), he sounded fairly “clean” (for lack of a better term). I can’t really give an honest assessment, though.
But, you know, it all my trips to the Wildwoods, I have never experienced a show at the Casba.
This is kind of odd, especially considering how often I’ve stayed at various motels right around it on Atlantic Ave. – the Brittany, Midtown (now Blue Palms), and, just two weeks ago, the Skylark.
The place looks great from the outside, though. I’m going to have to check out a show or two next year.

Homer - I agree with you about the Club Casba. I went to a show in August and it was terrific. I talked to The Don after the show and he was really friendly and personable. He sells things like pens and stuff with the club logo on it and donates the funds to a charity.
An interesting thing happened at the show... there were 2 drunk, obnoxious, heckling girls. The Don was all over them and told them that people came to see the show and they were being disruptive. If they made one more comment, he was going to kick them out. Well, guess what the drunk girls did? They tested The Don and were kicked out. It was somewhat shocking to see happen, but then the audience went wild with applause. It was actually quite amusing. The Don is so cool.
The Club looks great and is a nice addition to downtown WW. Plus, they get well-known comedians to appear. I saw Jim Florentine. Also, the cost is reasonable. I highly recommend it.
On a side note, Al, what is your website?
