Does anyone remember the guy who would walk around the beach selling newspapers and magazines? He would either have a bag over his shoulder with his papers/magazines in it or pulling a cart with them in it. He would shout out the titles of what he had for sale, as only he could:
The Philadelphia In-Qui-R-Er
The New York POST!
Cos-Mo-Politan
The STARRR!!!
...and so on.
I haven't seen this guy in years. I knew him from walking through the beach in Wildwood Crest, and I'm not sure if he also ever went through Wildwood or North Wildwood. Does anyone know what happened to him?

Don't know what happened to him, but do remember what it sounded like back in the early 70s. To this day, I can remember the pitch: "Philllllladelphiaaaa Daileeeee News.......Daileeeeee News Here!!!!!!

Like Frank, I seem to remember seeing someone selling newspapers on the beach (in Wildwood proper) at some point last season.
I don't particularly remember him shouting anything out, but, then again, I probably wasn't paying much attention either.

I remember the boys on the boardwalk calling Philadelphia Daiiiiillllyyyyy Newwwwssss. My Mom and Dad would always buy a paper from them. They had large canvas bags that looked very heavy. They always seemed to be at the mid way point of the boardwalk and at dusk to dark. This was in the late 60's early to late 70's. I wonder if they still do it?

That must have been him - thanks! He used to get pretty dark when I used to see him too - blond hair, right? Do you remember around where it was you saw him?
