Anyone out there have anything that reminds them of Wildwood? like music, TV/movies, or other stuff.
For me anything by Zepplin kind of reminds me of Wildwood. I'd have to say my favorite wildwood album would be "El Dorado" By Electric Light Orchestra, something about it reminds me of Wildwood at night, very 70's summer kind of sound. Most wildwood song might be "Jump" by Van Halen THe Crest at night might be "Lady Stardust" By David Bowie. The beach boys are good too.
Most wildwood car might be the 80's Chevy Celebrity's because that was the car we took to the Crest when we first started going. As far as movies go, hard to say, maybe "Atlantic City" or "Jaws" Not to mention if I hear a word I associate with the wildwoods [like "Sattelite or Singapore"] the first thing I think of is wildwood.
Can any one else think of anything?

Many many things, here are a few: Colorful neon signs, carnival rides, seashells, childrens laughter, warm breezes in the evening, splashing in a pool, inflatable pool toys, light evening rain showers, sand, wooden piers, maybe I think too much about Wildwood...Nah, ain't possible.

I'm sure there are other things that I'll have to think about, but the smell of a brand new bottle of Coppertone suntan lotion pretty much does it all for me!
As long as I've lived down here in summer (which has been a long time) that smell has always been a true invite not only to summer but summer in Wildwood as well!
Great topic by the way!!!

Satan or anything related to the depths of hell reminds of Wildwood because of all the wonderful dark rides that once graced the island.

I'd say the warm weather reminds me of WW the most.. As soon as the winter breaks and the spring arrives I immediatly think of the shore! Looking in my wifes or Sons eyes I remember the look of their eyes and smiles they have when we are there..

I just slathered my face with Coppertone and had a MAJOR Wildwood flashback. The smell of salt air, fried clams, ice cream and waffles, chlorine, neon lights, hot pavement...I could go on and on!

Being from the Philadelphia area we always tooks the AC Expressway or 322 to 55 to 47. Everytime I see the Walt Whitman bridge or the Commodore Barry Bridge I think of Wildwood and get excited about the upcoming season. The ride from PA to Wildwood is brutally boring but it always seems worth it when you get to the rio grande ave bridge and you can see the ocean and smell the salt air.
Also the sounds of seagulls when the come into PA. Every now and then i'll eat a slice of pizza that kind of reminds me of wildwood too. Not to mention the sounds you here inside arcades. Another album that always reminded me of the good old days in wildwood is "Abacab" by Genesis. That doesn't mean that this is my favorite music, it just means the whole general sound of the album seems to have a 70's/80's wildwood at night feel.
Here's an interesting thought... If you couldn't go to wildwood, what would be the next best thing? For me nothing compares. The closest thing to the boardwalk might be South Street in Philadelphia. Can't think of a better shore town, never been to seaside heights or Ocean city, Maryland. Have been to Virginia beach, which is nice... But it's no Wildwood.

I received an old fifties style radio for my birthday this year! it is very retro.
Also, seeing my son laying on the outdoor furniture that we brought back from the Packard Motel. He does his homework outside sitting on that furniture!
The weather has not been warm enough in Michigan to put out the other green and yellow chairs from the Packard. I know I will never be able to match this shade of paint again. A keepsake for sure.
Can't wait to sit on them and have my coffee. Now, if I only had a slice of Sam's Pizza I would be set.

A little off the topic, can anyone who lives in Philly/suburbs think of anywhere doo wop or wildwoodish around where they live? Jim's Steaks [all 4 locations] seem to have a wildwood doo wop kind of feel. Also Pat's and Geno's, eating outside there on a summer night kind of reminds me of a wildwood night. There are all also some big neon signs in the area too [like wildwood] like the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, or the Arby's on MacDade Blvd, Preston Diner in Tinicum Township, or Marra's on Passyunk in South Phila.
if anyone else can think of anything in there area let me know. Also, speaking of Jim's, pat's and geno's, can anyone think of any really good cheesesteak places in wildwood. The only place i've ever had a steak was "D's" on Pacific Avenue.
