Mine was on the 4th of july standing under the pirate ship skyride watching the colors of the fireworks off my daughters face as she slept in the stroller. The next was the actual view of the fireworks over the ocean.

My favorite view would have to be from on top of the Ferris wheel around sunset. My next favorite view might be anything along Ocean/Atlantic Ave in the Crest at night. I really miss coming to the end of Ocean Ave in WW and seeing the giant Castle.

I always like coming into Wildwood from Rio Grande as you approached the bridge and the Wildwood Yacht Basin over where Lighthouse Pointe is...Years ago you could see the top of the Jack Rabbit Coaster and other rides on the boardwalk as you drove in. Today, the big ferris wheel and part of the Sea Serpant have taken their place. It's still a great sight!
Today I simply drive a little further into Cape May and take the toll bridge because it's closer to home and I usually stop at Wawa and then Crest Tavern.

My fave view was when we would come into NW and drive along the ocean and you would see the view of the boardwalk and rides for the first time! I was so excited and couldn't wait!!!!! Then I would remember when we stayed at the Sahara on 18th and the beach - I would know we were there because when you come to 18th - The Malibu is there (on the 19th) and you cannot go straight - as soon as I saw the Malibu - I knew my home away from home was right around the corner!

my favorite would be seeing morey's pier right before the last drop on the log run at night. Another, just entering north wildwood and seeing the "red roller coaster" and also the ferris wheel in the background. For old times sake, sitting on the balcony of the packard motel. we always rented the two last rooms over the office. It was an active corner! Can't tell you how many cars I have seen run through 26th and surf and come back only to find out that the beach and atlantic ocean are at the end of the street! man, the good old days.

Geez, the landscape of the corner of 26th and Surf has changed dramatically in such a short period of time, hasn't it, Jackie? I'm still trying to adjust to how different that area now looks... and feels.
As for my favorite view and sight... wow... there are just so many...
Let's try to narrow it down a bit...
- The entrance boulevard into North Wildwood, which many have already mentioned, is incredible, from both a scenic and nostaligic standpoint. Day or night, the view is awesome. What I like best about entering the Wildwoods that way is the way the island's panoramic landscape unfolds right before your eyes, as familiar landmarks become more and more distinguishable.
- Then, there's always the view from the top of the Giant Ferris Wheel. What an incredible view of the entire island you get from up there. I like it best at night, especially when you glance up toward North Wildwood and catch the glowing beam of the Hereford Lighthouse exploding from the darkness. Love it.
- Of course there's also Ocean Ave. in the Crest at night, but things are really changing down there. As of right now, though, the proposed Doo Wop Historic District is still a sight to behold at night.
- One of my personal favorite sights... well... it's not really ONE sight, but rather a series of them... can be seen from the Zoom Phloom on Morey's Pier. You get some great views of the pier itself, the other rides, the Boardwalk in the distance and much, much more as you cruise along. I especially enjoy glancing over at the darkened, back end of Hunt's Pier. It's a view of the Golden Nugget and the rest of the deserted pier that you just can't get from anywhere else.
There are plenty of others that come to mind. I'll have to try to narrow it down and see if I can come up with a #1 favorite.

Aside from the beach itself, it's Ocean Avenue for me - from where it starts/ends in Wildwood Crest, to where it ends by Schellenger in Wildwood. It's dimished, and the section around Farragut in particular is kinda depressing, but overall it's still great. Atlantic Avenue for the rest of Wildwood Crest after Ocean Avenue ends at Farragut as well.

I agree Al. 26th and Boardwalk looks so different. By force of habit we came in off of New Jersey Ave and down to 26th to see where the Packard use to be. I wonder what the owners of the hotel that used to be hidden by the packard are charging now that he has a boardwalk view. It just did not seem right.
At least Gateway and sams are there. It is nice to see the same people in gateway 26 year after year. Lots of hugs and smiles to pass around.
My husband always tells me that I am very protective of wildwood and should work for their tourism department.

I'd say entering Wildwood off Exit 4B. You get halfway and start seeing the billboards--then the rides in the distance, Lighthouse Point, then the bridge and seeing the Boathouse Restaurant. We used to stay at the Rio so that trip down Rio Grand Ave was always exciting and we always seemed to get every traffic light that made that mile seem like and hour ride. Probably a second view would be from the last car on the Sea Serpant just before you hear the loud "CLICK and it drops your butt going 60 miles an hour----great view and awesome anticipation on that ride!

I would say seeing the rides lit up at night from the boardwalk, or the Castle Dracula at night with it's flaming torches, or the neon of all the motels when they were there. Long ago memories would be seeing the chaser lights on the lift hill of the Flyer on Hunt's Pier, or all the unique, custom built dark rides that are but memories now.

I love entering along North Wildwood Blvd, on a Friday night as the fireworks light up the sky, what a beautiful sight. Often just drive over that way, park along the side of the causeway and watch.
