Just saw this new item on eBay and had to jump on here quick to show it to you. If it doesn't get you a little misty, maybe you've wandered into the wrong forum ;D

God how I miss the skyline golf. This was from a time when Wildwood was WILDWOOD. Its hayday if you will. This reminds me of so many things. Up until this past Spring, every time I saw the Hunt's Pier pylon I'd stop and think about what once was.

Up until this past Spring, every time I saw the Hunt's Pier pylon I'd stop and think about what once was. This too is gone since my last visit, ugh... I'm probably going to run down for a "quickie" this weekend, partly just to get some of the shock out of the way before my longer September visit. How sick is that... But I can't give up on the place, not yet. We used to mini-golf after dinner a lot when I was a kid, but usually in places other than Skyline because it was too popular and mobbed all the time. Always a bit of a disappointment for me, although I enjoyed all the other courses. It was so much fun for little me to compete with a Real Golfer (my dad ;D) out there in the wonderful fragrant, festive, breezy surroundings of Wildwood at dusk. I meant to mention that the seller says this card is postmarked 1963. Here's a link to the actual listing, what the heck, let's have a bidding war... LOL... not like you guys couldn't find it anyway, I just used the image hosting site link originally so you could see the larger version of the picture. tinyurl.com/zb5bm

Aren't there other rooftop mini golfs? I thought I saw one down by the Fun Pier end. There's a pretty big one in Seaside Heights at the entrance to the pier. What is on the theater roof now?

The best part of the skyline golf course was the miniature Skua pirate ship. Anyone else remember that?

Skyline Golf on Hunt's Pier did in fact have real grass. There is one rooftop golf near Fun Pier and near the Boardwalk Chapel. I've never been there, but looks like nothing compared to the one at Hunt's.

When did skyline golf close down and what is on that roof now?

Correct me if I am wrong but... I'm fairly certain that my grandfather had another rooftop mini golf course in Cape May County. I definitely remember playing on top of stores on 96th Street in Stone Harbor but I'm not 100% sure if Bud actually owned it. (He did own a movie theater very close by called Harbor Theater... I remember seeing Ghostbusters there with my aunt/Bud's daughter.) If anyone remembers or has any info, please feel free to comment. Today, the same rooftop mini golf course is still in operation.... here's a link to check it out! www.seven-mile-island.com/minigolf/minigolf-default.htm
