I love that scene of the pier at night. Looking at it makes me sick sometimes though knowing what was done to your family's pier. However on the front cover is a nice shot of the Nugget in it's prime when it ran everyday in the summer giving riders a trip through an abandoned haunted mine. I hope that the Nugget is restored and reopened to the public. That would be one bright spot amid all the bad things that have been happening there lately with practically everyone being pressured to sell to condo developers. I wonder what the pier did with all it's brochures when they sold/closed? If I would have known any better in 1983, I would have grabbed a whole wad of them from behind the ticket counter or where ever they had them. They would be valuable today. My late father didn't take one photo of us at Hunt's Pier! I wish he would have taken a pic of us on the Keystone Kop cars in the station, or on the Nugget, or on the Pirate Ship, or on the train. I found plenty of pics taken of us on the beach in our personal photo collection, but none on the piers themselves, just one on the south end of the walk away from the piers.
