Hello All. I am from Upstate NY. My family and I usually spend a week in Wildwood during July. I would love to spend more time down there if work would allow. I am in the hotel business and summer is a busy time for us. I am so glad to have found this message board to keep informed with whats going on and hear about the history.

Welcome, nyjay!
Upstate NY is beautiful. I enjoy driving through the Adirondacks on my annual trips to and from Montreal.
Are you located anywhere near that part of the state?

A clan meeting, oh my!! Read that quick the first time, but now I got it, lol.
We are in the Binghamton area about an hour north of Scranton, PA. Takes us about 4.5 hours to get to Wildwood.

I know Binghamton well, from my hockey travels.
Have followed the town's AHL teams for years... the Senators today and the Rangers and Whalers in the past.

Robert..I didn't go to Syracuse to vist any haunts..I went to a Ladies Retreat. We had no desire to see any haunts.
I am not going to go anywhere to just see spook houses...if one happens to be close by, and doesn't conflict with my scheduel, I may go.
I don't live and breath Haunts..that time in my life is OVER...I grew up, and moved on.

Contessa...I think you hurt Robert's feelings. I think you should appologize and take him to Nigara Falls so that he can finally fulfill his dreams.

For what it’s worth, I have been to Niagara Falls a few times, and have seen the Dracula’s and Frankenstein’s Castle attractions from the outside, up on Clifton Hill (the main entertainment strip in town… kind of like their version of the Boardwalk).
The attractions looked half decent, not great (kind of like glorified store fronts), and I was advised that they are nothing special inside. I never did get a chance to experience them for myself, so I cannot say for certain. If I find myself up there this summer, I will be sure to give them a go.
Niagara Falls, Canada, by the way, is just an awesome vacation destination. The falls, first of all, are impressive far beyond what you can imagine. Seeing (and hearing) them up close and in person is a truly overwhelming and magical experience, especially at night (spotlights actually light up the falls, and they have regular firework displays to add to the magic).
Clifton Hill is great, also. The first time we were there, myself and my future wife couldn’t get over how “Wildwood” the experience was. That’s what we kept saying to each other. It had that frilly, over-the-top, care-free, carnival-type atmosphere to it, for sure. Definitely worth checking out, if you ever get the chance.
