Hello...please bear with me as this is my first message on a board -ever! I cannot tell you how good it is to read all of these posts about so many feelings that my family and I have always shared about WW. I have not missed one summer vacation to WW in my 38 years. My mother and father met each other in WW at the Glass Bar (my Mother was from McKeesport PA and it was her first time ever to a beach). My father was a weekend regular to WW from Bayonne, NJ; he would tell us stories of seeing Chubby Checker & the streets flooding when it rained (which I have witnessed now many times myself). Because of that meeting, WW is now "in our blood" so to speak.
We always stayed at the Sea Cove Motel on Wildwood Ave. when we were younger. We also attended many Elks conventions as Dad was a member.
As I grew older my sisters and friends would stay at Diamond Beach, go to the Playpen & dance to a band called Magnum. After they moved the Playpen and closed most of DB we starting staying at the Premiere. Nowadays I stay in the Crest at the Fleur De Lis.
Going to WW always feels like home. No matter where else I travel I cannot imagine missing one or more trips to WW a year. It is where my parents met & many many years later, where one of my sisters met her husband.
There are too many memories to list - fudgy wudgy bars on the beach - the original Hunt's Pier Log Flume - the exciting feeling of going to the boardwalk at night - too much sunburn from a day at the beach - being introduced to Mack's Pizza - having my first Shirley Temple at the Hurricane East (nothing like it is now!), they had a Vegas type show there in the early 70's, Johnny Cavelier I think?. I am so glad there is a place now where I can share my thoughts & feelings about WW - thanks for creating this!
