Nice to hear that the 17th sounds good for most of us so far (sorry to hear that that date doesn't work for you, Frank; we will have to figure out a way to perhaps do at least one more of these later in the summer)...
I should be free on this date, though things can always change. It looks as good as any day at this time, however, and I'm really looking forward to this.
Sam's or Macks... either one sounds good to me. Perhaps Sam's is best, as we can also help them celebrate their "new era," and it's a nice, centralized location.
I'll keep a brief running list of everyone who believes they can make it below (of course, anyone and everyone is welcomed to join in!).

As Al said, We could do this a few times in the Summer and Fall. If this one is inconvenient there is always another weekend to plan for? I'm there till October other than Saturdays from 6/24 to Labor Day Weekend before 2. Hopefully this summer won't fly by as quickly as last year did?

Hopefully the weather will be good.

It hasn't really been announced Thom, at least that I know of. I've asked around... Members of the DWPL should be getting invitations, hopefully soon. They've had Awards Dinners before - the last was in December 2004, at Cool Scoops IIRC. I wasn't at that Dinner - this one will be me first. I don't know the price. I *think* members can invite who they wish to come to the dinner with them. Thom, maybe you can do some investigating as to when the invitations will be sent out? They might be a little occupied with other things, I guess. Quoting myself, I wanted to confirm that the Doo Wop Preservation League's Awards Dinner is still happening on May 22, 2006, at the Shalimar. The dinner should begin at 6:00pm. If any members of the DWPL have not received their invitations yet, but plan on attending, you can call (609) 523-1958. This is Dan MacElvery's Ocean Property Management (Dan is the President of the DWPL). There is no charge for members to attend, but you need to let them know you'll be there. I was told the dinner is black-tie optional dress. See you there!

Did you get your invitation? Are you going black tie? I had planned office casual, glad you mentioned this. re

Didn't get the invitation yet, Marie. I was told when I called OPMC today that they were sent out...
I'll probably wear a dark suit. I've never worn a tie in Wildwood before!

Becoming a member of the DWPL league seems interesting. The Jetson package is a little on the pricey side though.
