Thanks for asking, re!
Oh man, do I have butterflies!
And, I'm not even sure why... It certainly isn't "cold feet" nervousness. We've been together for 10 years and have been, more or less, a "married couple" for some time now.
Honestly, I tend to get nervous whenever I'm at the center of attention, particularly in front of a small group of people. Even though it's in front of family and friends, doesn't matter.
Oddly, in college and since, I have gotten very comfortable speaking in front of large groups of people, sometimes 300-400 at a time. No problem there, whatsoever.
But, put me in front of a roomfull of folks, and I sometimes get all weird. There's a certain name for this phobia, and I can't remember what it is... for some reason, I feel like I have to "perform" in such situations, and that there are added expectations on me. Bizarre, I know.
Again, thanks for asking, and thanks again to everyone -- you, Martin, Frank, Mike, Cindy, rosiebear, Homer, dolphin, firemansgirl, Anisha, Hulk, Condor, darkride, lastresort, everyone -- for all of your kind words and well wishes.
Spending time on the boards this morning has helped me calm my nerves a bit. I'm heading out for some errands in a few though, and just wanted to thank everyone for all of your kindness one more time!
Thank you! ;D

Good luck, Al. I felt the same way as you when I got married in 1988. My big worry, though, was shaving before the ceremony. I shaved myself bloody trying to get every single hair off my face. It's amazing, the stupid things you worry about before hand and when it's over you can't remember why you thought the things you did. If you read this before hand, try to remember the most important thing there is about your wedding. It's mostly your wife's day. I believe that for some reason most of us men can't fathom, women spend almost every day of their lives, from the moment they utter their first word, dreaming about their future wedding day and the man they are going to marry. (It's a female thing, I guess. ;D) Although it is just as important a day to us men, with women, their wedding day is almost a religious experience, it's that special. Women truly are a gift from God. Do everything you can to make this the most wonderful day in her life. Your reward, as a man, will be in seeing her smile and the bright light in her eyes. Thom
