Hi, I've been having such a good time with the Wildwood nostalgia part of the board I didn't even notice this part. Didn't mean to be rude. I've been going to Wildwood since I was around 2. I did the Wildwood Days documentary so anyone who lives in the broadcast range of the PBS stations in Philly or New Jersey probably already knows more about me and my Wildwood memories than they ever wanted to know. I live on another beach now - Miami (or, as I refer to it, the beach without a boardwalk, Mack's pizza or skee-ball) but I still go back to Wildwood. I'm looking forward to the 50's weekend. We just updated our website, travisty.tv. We'll be adding stuff to the Wildwood page soon. It also links to places to buy the DVD...with DWPL at the top of the list, of course. While I'm writing. I want to thank everyone who's e-mailed me over the past couple of years and shared their Wildwood memories.

Great to hear from you, Carolyn!
I assume you’ll be heading up to Wildwood for 50s weekend? The Pan American, I presume?
One of these days, I hope to get the chance to meet up with you.
Oh, and it looks like I'll be purchasing at least another 3 or 4 copies of “Wildwood Days” for relatives as Christmas gifts this year. Makes my shopping a heck of a lot easier. ;D

I just love your CD, enjoy 50's weekend. I may have to bail out of here before next weekend. If not I'll look for you and introduce myself. I met Eric "DooWhopStuff'" at last years.

The DWPL is selling the DVD at the 50's weekend so I'll probably be hanging around their table. I'd love to meet you guys!
Yes, Al, I'll be at the Pan American. It was the last place I stayed with my parents before I got my driver's license and started coming with my friends. One day I'll have to tell my parents about those trips.....or not:-)

"Wildwood Days" really showcased the past few decades in WW and for someone who grew up in Cape May County and experienced much of the area, it's great to see all of the places/things from my childhood. As many other people on this board know, Bud Hunt was my grandfather and my times in WW were always special. I know he would be proud to hear the appreciation and love that others had for Hunt's Pier. (I never had a chance to meet Guy or my great-grandfather, William C Hunt but I know they would be equally proud of their accomplishments.) Are there any other WW documentaries planned in the near future? -Kristen

I loved Hunt's Pier, too back in 1980-1983. I wish I could have met or talked with Vince Kostek before he passed and thanked him. The Whacky Shack still gives me the creeps looking at it like it did back then. I have two copies of an original 1982 Hunt's Pier brochure and several postcards with views of Hunt's and Whacky Shack, also Dante's, Castle Dracula and a Castle Dracula brochure. It's sad many nice motels and restaurants are gone but hopefully some can be saved. Even WW is not immune from sweeping change like the rest of the world. All across the US we lost tacky roadside attractions for bland new developments or nothing.

Thanks for all the nice words about "Wildwood Days". I had a lot of fun making it. Except for the demolition part, of course.
huntspier4ever - I wish I could've thanked your grandfather for Hunt's Pier. I have wonderful memories of it. I don't think there'll ever be anything quite like it.
I don't have any plans for another Wildwood doc. I think I've told my story. And there are three other interesting ones out there....the one on the history of Wildwood, the one on the boardwalk and the new one on the motels...all worth seeing. We have a show coming out next year called Airplay, on 50 years of rock radio disc jockeys. The Geator's in it of course, along with a lot of other deejays some of you from New York and other parts of the country will recognize. We're not sure where or when it'll air, but we've been told there's a Wildwood film festival in the works for next year and we'll definitely be there. Check our website for updates.
