What are your overall thoughts of this past season? I can sum it up as HOT(weather wise), how much time did you spend in the AC? WW this summer? My thoughts as summer progressively comes to an end in a few weeks, always a little sad, the days are growing shorter, nights are longer. During the long winter WW comes to mind and as I sit in my home office I am surrounded by WW. Pictures, postcards, a toy tram, shells, and then I look forward to next year. WW gets me thru that long dark and grey winter. How many feel this way?

I feel the same way. I really hate winter. I like snowdays and all but after a while the snow gets tireing, especially when it gets all melted, refrozen, and all brown from the street and junk. No smell of freshly cut grass, no bugs at night (they are very loud here) etc. During the winter I normally look at the pics I tok during the past summers and just look foward for the coming one. Weather wise I think we did pretty good this summer. I like it hot and humid!

I am a teacher and nothing is more depressing than Labor Day weekend!! I do love the fall and Halloween so at least I have something to look forward too but it's still sad to see summer go. I am also not a fan of winter and snow. It was very hot summer! I throughly enjoyed my weekend in WW and hope maybe to get back down there once. Wildwanderer - our computer room is also our "shore room" . I have pictures from WW that I have taken and framed - I am going to add my Commerce Bank picture once I get it framed, the toy tram car, a newly added wooden lifeguard boat purchased this past weekend at the boardwalk craft show and some other odds and ends. But it's what gets me through too.

We homeschool so we go to Wildwood every year just AFTER Labor Day to avoid the crowds -- so it always becons in the end of Summer but it's such a big thing to look forward to it makes these hot humid Virginia Summers more livable -- Our vacation to Wildwood this year is still approaching and my little girls, my husband and I couldn't be more excited! My husband was born in Wildwood (well actually Cape May Courthouse where the hosp. is) and spent all his Summers and Christmas vacations in Wilwood with grandparents -- and I love that he has such fond memories that he wants to recreate them with his little girls ;D

We just came back last week from our yearly trip. I would say that many times throughout the fall, winter, and spring I look at pictures & brochures from Wildwood. I am a videographer so every year I make a DVD for my family from our trip which is always good to watch while watching a nasty "Nor'Easter" pound you with 2 feet of snow in January

as the summer season draws to a close, thanks to all of you for keeping this Michigan girl up to speed on the shore. I have many long cold months to get through until I get back to Wildwood.
It is amazing how much I miss being in New Jersey. Not a day goes by that I do not mention it at some point in my day.
Labor Day BBQ with my family today and another chance to sit in my Packard chairs! Seems like only yesterday that we were planning that trip.
So, eat a slice of Sam's Pizza for me and Frank, if you go, stop by Douglass Candy for me one last time this season!!!!! I am craving some non-parials bad!

Michigan girl Jackie Jackie, I have to say, after reading your post I feel a little guilty almost, having the opportunity to visit and spend time in the Wildwoods as much as I do (which is still nowhere near as much as I would like!). It's a lesson, I guess, to all of us, that we have to simply enjoy what we have and realize how lucky we all are to have it. I will surely down a slice of Sam's on my next day trip the Wildwoods in your honor, Jackie!

Thanks you guys! If you can find a way to mail me the pizza and candy it would make my day. With gas $3.00 a gallon the delivery on the pizza would be expensive!!
It's funny, but the one thing that I always forget to bring home is some sand off the beach. Yet, when we pulled out our beach chairs last weekend, there was a little sand in it!! Yeah, one more thought of Wildwood to get me through.
Have a great trip. Al or Frank, if one of you can take a picture of the front of gateway, that would be wonderful.
Take care and be safe.
Side note to AL and Frank, You are truly right, we all must appreciate what we have. My father in law was just diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. It is a tough time for us right now. Please saw a prayer for him and my family.
