How many of you are car show enthusiasts?? We have a 65 Mustang Fastback. We not only attend the show in WW but we also go to Hershey in the Fall, Carlisle Events, Macungie car shows, Pottstown nights, and other local outtings. Just curious how many others are "classic" lovers. Sometimes it's just fun to go to the shows for the people other than the cars. Looking forward to hearing about your tales.

We have a modified 87 Buick Grand National.. hense the name FlyinGN (Flying GN) I figured it had something to do with cars. It's much cooler than "homer" (...as in Homer Simpson..I used to operate a nuclear reactor...) What's the deal with people "laying wheels"? (Excuse me if it's not the latest lingo--again, I never claim to be cool.) I personally don't mind it (since I don't directly pay for Wildwood's streets.) But I can tell you it makes the car shows less popular with locals and politicians. Is it just a subculture of the car show folks or is it pretty much everyone? Just curious.

It used to be called 'laying wheels' when I was little Now its just a burnout.. lol Its a show of horsepower.. And generally it lessens with age and knowledge that all it does is stress the driveline and wear out expensive tires.. Its still fun to watch tho:) Frank

Just to be clear...I think the car shows should be here indefinitely. I really get a kick out of seeing them around town. Thanks for the info. Let me know what the car folks start calling it next...at least I knew not to say "burn rubber!" (By the way, I saw a pic titled 09-25-05firstplace.jpg on your site--what'd you win?)
