People tend to be extremists and exaggerate a bit when it comes to the weather, but, I swear, this has got to be the mildest winter I can ever remember here in the Northeast. The temperature here in Philly is 62 degrees as I type this. IN February!!! Insanity! I just went outside on my lunch break and, yeah, this is one of those days where the early scents of spring abound, and the glory days of summer and the Wildwoods don't seem so far off. Actually, there are only 44 days to go until spring. But, the weather being as nice as it is (and assuming it holds up), I don't know if I can resist a trip to the Wildwoods this weekend. I've got some priorities to attend to, but, who am I kidding... I'M GOING! ;D

Hey Al it is Feb., however my tulips and daffadills think its April. They are coming up. I am afraid we are in for a huge snow storm before the winter is up and everything growing right now will be ruined.

And they said global warming is bad... It's great now, but how will you feel about global warming when we get that snowstorm in June (It's happened at least twice in my lifetime - June snow in Wildwood). Or that head-on hurricane? South Jersey is seriously overdue. I for one believe global warming is real and the world is in for some serious sorrow if we don't wake up soon. For now, though, I really love this weather. Keep it up! Thom TheWildwoodsReporter.com

Keep it up! Thom TheWildwoodsReporter.comThat's a great pic, Thom. So tranquil. As for global warming, I don't know. I honestly believe that sometimes, well, we just get mild winters. Sometimes temperatures fluctuate at odd times during the year, and that's just the way it is. But, I really don't know. I don't follow the patterns or anything, so perhaps we really are in for some bad news in the future. You're definitely right, though... South Jersey is long overdue for a head-on hurricane. And, let's hope it stays that way for a long, long time to come.

You are right about S. Jersey's luck running out as far as hurricanes go..I wonder each Spring when they announce the names of the storms if THIS is the year we get whacked! One of the scary things about this is the lack of a good evacuation route. Rt. 9 is out cause that bridge has been closed for a few years now. The Parkway is the main route out of SJ, but the Rt. 52 Causeway into Ocean City down to two lanes, the backups are expected to go all the way to Rt. 9...and of course many knows the joy of trying to leave CMC up 47.

Global warming. That's all I have heard about since high school science class and that is a pretty long time ago. I am not going to worry. Live each day and hour as it comes. We must share in the responsiblity yes, but go back to historical dates and you will see many a mild winter and cold summers. Nothing new.

its snowed twice in June ?? get out.. for real?? Yup! But keep in mind my advanced age of 54. That's a long time. Snow in June twice in 54 years isn't too bad - and it didn't really amount to much, just enough to shock your socks off. Seriously, though: One of my past incarnations was as a "fudgie wudgie" man on the Wildwood beach for 18 years. I can remember a couple of years there where it was seriously cold out on that beach until almost July 4th weekend when it finally warmed up. You should try selling ice cream to someone wearing three sweat shirts and sitting in a beach chair huddled up against Wild Wheels Pier to keep out of the wind. "Fudgy Wudgy! What, are you nuts? How about hot dogs or hot chocolate? "Fudgy wudgies. Give me a break!" Thom TheWildwoodsReporter.com
