That pretty much sums it up, doesn't it . It bugs me when articles describe what is going on as a "rebirth," as if it was dead to start. Poor Wildwood.

Thanks for the link. I don't like it either when writers all too often seem to me to feel the need to throw unwarranted "digs" at their subject. About the high-rise hotels - I understand the need for a few, and I don't think it will be too much of a problem if their development is kept under control. My fear is that too many will be allowed to be built. It's too bad that the ones that will be going up will be at the expense of older motels. Interesting that the Oceanic will be around for a couple more years and then . I wonder if there would be some way to protect the Oceanic and offer the developers of the high rise an alternate property?

Id rather have a 3 floor condo than a 25 story Marriot clone, especially if they build lots of them. Unless they can somehow break from their monotonous style. The Noveu or whatever condotel looks like it will be pretty good, at least it will be respecting the style of the Wildwoods. If only the owners of the small places would do some renovations and get a 3 diamond rating from AAA (many have already), things would be much better for them.

I'll miss the swim up bar in the pool at the OCEANIC.

Next, they'll be tearing the boardwalk down because it won't fit in with the new style condo/hotels.

Did anyone attend the meeting at the end of February where the Oceanic was supposedly to have been discussed? What happened at the meeting?
