I have a contractor friend of mine who does alot or work in central NJ. We go way back and talk once in a while on the phone about old times. I started asking him about WW and how the builders were getting the zoning laws changed to tear down the motels and build condos. This guy is always 100% on the money and without hesitation he told me "kickbacks, kickbacks and more kickbacks, he also said that a bunch of the companies down there are "mobbed up". He said the cost of business down there was too high because of the "taxes" imposed by those giving out the permits, on the zoning board and the "union delegates" in the area.
Seems like you guys have quite a scandal brewing. MAybe I'll see it on the next season of the Sopranos, lol

I figured that was going on. The local government seems quite corrupt. It;s to bad we can't get some kind of investigation from DC down there.

The truth is that the Wildwoods have alwaqys been a strong source for organized crime families. Only thing was thast years ago they had an ionterest in motels and small business. Now, I guess it's condos.
Back in 1978 the New Jersey Attorney General's Office (in conjuncture with the DA's office in Pennsylvania and NY) did a study and could not believe how much organzied crime involved themselves with business alonmg the Jersey Shore.

I always figured the arcades were connected as that's just how that business is. In the late 90's I actually found a small arcade that had a Cherry Master Video slot machine that you could play for actual money and the attendant paid you for the amount of credits in the machine, the place was right on the boardwalk but I forget exactly where. I used to own a bar in CT and we had one so I asked the guy what the deal was and he told me, I actually beat him for $40 bucks
