On a brighter note, for a change ... I wasn't aware of this new Wildwood event coming up, and thought maybe some of you weren't either. Sounds like fun! Source: This week's Wildwood Leader, page 9 of online version www.thewildwoodleader.com/pages_b/page2_09.htm

Thanks Kathi. I heard about this last week. "The Rascals" is Felix and other people, since the other 3 don't get along with him.
I guess this being set to be held at Fox Park means they anticipate the Surfside to be resurrected by then, and the old Motel neon lit?

Well, I guess I'd rather see Felix Cavaliere without the Rascals than the Duprees without Joey Vann Oh wow, I hope you're right! All that plus an array of (hopefully) down-home South Jersey Italian food. I just might have to make an extra September trip this year...

It seems odd for the Italian Festival to be held in Fox Park and not have something completed there. Right now Fox Park is under construction and unsuitable for ANY event, except throwing rocks.

Fox Park is 2 city blocks in area. Construction is going on in no more than 5% of that space.

The city will be holding more events there to stretch the season, compliment the convention center and compete with NW and WWC. The amphitheatre will further help these efforts. It will be quite some time before any old signs go up, that is very involved. Thinking all this will be up a month from now is pure fantasy. In the meantime its good to hold misc. events there to keep the focus on the area. The firemen will also be there in a few weeks. Look out!

After seeing how Sunday turned out, I wish I went to the block party on Saturday. Oh well. At least Dion was at La Piazza accepting his award on Sunday night when I was there...

Glad to hear that the city will be utilizing Fox Park more. It could be a real asset, in the summer and for the purposes of "extending" the season into the fall.
I'm still hearing next spring for the opening of the new museum and lighting of the neon garden. I guess we shall see.

Thinking all this will be up a month from now is pure fantasy. Agree. Until I read your other post here, I thought they meant the Italian Festival would be held where the construction is now, not realizing how much of that area is Fox Park. I couldn't imagine all that being completed a month from now...
