There has been a long time rumor saying that they want to put places on the back of hunts pier for there exchange students to sleep and stay at over the summer. They can probably pay them dirt cheap and give them a place to stay. If the city allows this, I would be dissapointed.

I agree I think the guy is just trying to get more $$$. Besides, as far as i'm concerned the pier was destroyed a long time ago, once the flyer and jungleland came down.

Even taking out of the equation all of the sentimental value of the old Hunt's, etc., and thinking like one of the establishments cold-hearted accountants, I just can't see them wasting valuable pier real estate on some flop houses for exchange students. If this happens, then truly, the inmates are running the asylum, at least with respect to the WW govt. and chamber of commerce.

NO ONE can construct living units east of the boardwalk, it is illegal!!!! Maybe the seller of this card is purposely trying to confuse the recent redevelopment process involving Seaport Pier on 22nd Street with Hunts in order to sell the card. Or maybe he is confused with the recent closing of Steel Pier in Atlantic City. Who knows. Even if he is thinking of Seaport, still, there cannot be any living units east of the boardwalk. The Moreys (who would be crazy if they were even thinking of demolishing Hunts Pier) can construct offices, but no one can live in them, even exchange students during the summer, because that would illegally turn those offices into dwellings and not offices, so it just isn't going to happen without a major change in the law - which no one wants. The Moreys have mentioned that they will be modernizing Hunts Pier eventually (though they sure seem to be taking a long time deciding what to do with it) and Will Morey had mentioned to me a couple of months ago that he still doesnt know the plans for the Golden Nugget but it won't be demolished. Besides, just think: why would anyone want to tear down Hunts, it's concrete. If you tear it down you only have to put up another one so why do this when you already have a pier in place that is much stronger than any of the others. Thom

I like how the item description mentions a boat docked to the pier. I guess the person selling the card doesn't realize that the boat is actually a pirate ship, and the pirate ship is actually a ride? At least that's the way I interpreted the description...

A Boat Dock huh? That is quite interesting. How they are going to explain pirates docking in WW is anybody's guess. Also, they should know better than to relay suspicious natured news like this. Any thing to get a buck.

The person should have also mentioned that there were wild jungle animals and a 10 foot tall lumberjack running wild on the pier. That could drive up the price even further.

And a haunted mine shaft and keystone kops.
Maybe the seller is trying to capitalize on the Pirates of the Caribbean fad?

Don't you think that would be really clever and unique? That's the biggest thing right now.
