This is my usual September weekend but The Man has me on a very short leash at the moment. Here's a little tribute to the folks who have been "kicking Wildwood up a notch," with apologies to Emeril Lagasse, for me over the decade or so since I changed the timing of my longer stays from August to September. I know some of you guys view the bikers as getting too much slack from the cops, and maybe I've been lucky, if only by missing most of the late-night stuff because I stayed in the Crest until last year. In my experience, they have been unfailingly mature and respectful, never doing anything that offended or threatened me, and the few I've spoken with have been friendly and kind. My general sense of them is that they let the magnificent metallic beasts do the talking for them and don't feel as much of a need to posture as you might expect. A couple of these 2003 shots may be particularly appreciated by fans of the Rio Motel (RIP), for which that season was the next-to-last hurrah. Enjoy your weekend, HOGs! Wish I were there... [edited to eliminate original Imageshack thumbnails, which load too slow and advertise too much... and then, edited some more just because I could ]

I was around, though didn't drive by (where it wasn't blocked off) until later on a few times. Seemed like a great trunout - had to be thousands of motorcycles. Some nice stuff. Everyone that I saw seemed fine - no problems. Quite a bit of police out there. Just a lot of people enjoying their night, and the bikes...
