Has anyone been on this dark ride and how is it? Scary, or lame? Castle Dracula was the best dark ride in Wildwood in terms of atmosphere, it had a real foreboding interior, especially the tall front room with the chandelier and the painting of Dracula over the fireplace while creepy organ music played in the background. I don't think any other dark ride in WW can match up to that. I heard Hitchcock Manor was pretty scary, but it burned in August 1981 when I was 6. From what I read, that had a tall room with paintings like Disney's Haunted Mansion's Stretch Room. I don't even remember it there, unless my first visit was 1982. Dark River was ok, but now it's Pirates and they're supposed to be adding more stunts to it this year. I heard the dark ride on Morey's at 26th is being renovated again possibly into a haunted house theme, losing the Dante's Inferno name. Anyone know about this? And any progress on the Golden Nugget restoration? Do you think there's a market in Wildwood for a new live actor horror walk-through? Whether it would be on the castle's former spot at Nickels or on one of the Morey's Piers or even Sportland. Or perhaps a vacant building along the boardwalk. Even though Wildwood lost many good dark rides, they're better than Dorney which got rid of them all in the early 90's, now they have Halloweekends but that's October only. They have nothing scary whatsoever in the summer months. At least WW (Morey's) still has a few good dark rides left that operate in the summer. And several other parks along the shore from Playland, Rye, NY to Seaside Heights, to Rehoboth Beach, DE to OC MD all have dark rides.
