As I was walking home from work last night, I saw Pacific Ave. was closed off again down by Rio Grande. At least I could walk down the very center of Bennet and across Pacific without having to wade this time! That one photo is cool...with the 'One Way' sign...looks like it's saying you can only drive your boat that way! Thanks for posting...now I get to go back out into the wind to go to work again!

I hope everyone and everything on the island is unharmed. I never knew until joining this group that the flooding was such a chronic problem. Having had better luck with weather than I deserved all these 50+ years, I've hardly ever seen a heavy rain down there, let alone a high tide of that magnitude.

It's so strange to see the streets like that. I like the pics where the cars are parked almost to the point of floating. I bet I could catch a nice fish in that parking lot instead of over the edge like we usually do.

Is this from alot of rain? My home-town of Reading had quite a bit of flooding this past Spring.

wow.... I did not think the rain was that bad.... Guess it was the high tides and full moon that made it really bad

Is this from alot of rain? My home-town of Reading had quite a bit of flooding this past Spring. None of it was rain. Full moon mixed with 45knot winds pushes the already high water into the streets through the tide flex valves. Once the water is up in the streets it has a hard time draining because the tide is up so high. On sunday the winds shifted and kept the water out, but the tide was still as high as on sat.
