I thought it would never end, but I finally got through editing almost 400 pictures I took during Firemen's Weekend last month. (Oh, and also learning the hard way that you cannot post a Quicktime .mov file on Photobucket that contains more than one piece of MP3 audio, even if the file runs just fine from your own hard drive and is well under the size and run-time limits for your Photobucket account. Since I couldn't devote much time to pursuing the cause of this, I ended up just working around it. If anybody knows why I ran into that problem, please PM me. :
I divided the pictures into two slide shows, one for the motels and one for everything else, and again linked them on my Blogspot page because that route lets me trick them into displaying a little bigger than they would on Photobucket and also avoids the cluttered Photobucket surroundings.
I had to shoot with a Canon A540 instead of the more advanced, 8-megapixel camera I had planned on using, and I was very lucky to have even that to work with (you don't want to know why... ). So the quality of some shots is not as I would have preferred. But the A540 did okay. Sweet little camera, nicely laid out, really a pleasure to use.
If you have a few minutes to take these excursions with me, I hope you'll find them enjoyable. Click where indicated on the Blogspot page, linked below, to play the slide shows.

No Madonna soundtrack this time--just pure sentimental doo-wop .
Note: If your computer doesn't like the Blogspot arrangement for some reason, you can try going directly to the Photobucket source files using these links:
