I had to write a twenty-four line poem for my Literature class, and can you guess what I wrote it on? Hope you all enjoy it! Wildwood By-The-Sea
Wildwood, New Jersey is the place for me. Wide open beaches, toes in the sand and sea. The soul of the seashore remains unchanged today On the island of happiness, is the place I will stay.
Overcome by joy as you drive over the bridge, The crest of the Atlantic Ocean is seen beyond land’s ridge. All troubles left behind, as you enter the island’s gates, As you prepare yourself for the feeling, that only Wildwood creates.
By day, the caw of sea gulls is a reoccurring sound. Beaches packed, Motel rooms stacked, people all around. Flip Flops, bathing suits, and melting Ice Cream. The scent of hot summer sunscreen is more than serene.
Nighttime is when this city tends to thrive. As you enter the boardwalk, your pulse quickens, you feel alive. Amusements rides, French fries, twinkling bright lights Beyond the island’s gates, these never cease to delight.
A ride on the Ferris wheel, some pizza by the slice Nothing can beat this feeling, a feeling so precise. A night of pure excitement in the salty sea breeze, Excuse me, young man, Watch the Tram Car, please.
As the tradition continues, and generations pass on, The charm of the Wildwoods still lingers on. For a time like no other, a romp filled with glee… There is only one place, called Wildwood By-The-Sea.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words! This poem was also entered into a state contest by my teacher. $250 grand prize for the winner, that would be nice, huh? Hopefully the judges like Wildwood!
