Anyone ever go? We're thinking about it this year. What's it like?

I've been in town when they have it but sad to admit, I never watched it. It doesn't seen to get much press, it's just something that seems to happen every year.

My wife and I had talked about entering out little guy (14 months) into this year’s baby parade, but we don’t even know when it is, to tell you the truth.
It’s one of the events we occasionally talk about checking out, but never do.
Somebody should dress up a pair of twins like a classic Doo Wop motel and a condo. The motel could carry a large stick and continually whack the condo with it, up and down the Boardwalk.
Might be a bit violent for a baby parade (and I’m sure the baby in the condo outfit wouldn’t be too keen on it), but I’m sure it would get a good reaction from the crowd.

Al, LOL that's too funny!! My 2 would be good for that. MY son has NO problem wacking his sister with something.
Anyway it's July 21st. We're planning on going. It's soposedly (sp) the oldest baby parade around, but it gets no press. The one in OC is Aug 11 and you can see lots of pics on the net for that one.

Costume Idea for your little guy.
Remember a few years ago (LONG AGO LOL) the commercial with the crying Indian because someone was littering? Have your son dress like the crying indian or maybe James Dean (to keep up with doo wop) and have a fake tear on him because they're tearing all the places down.

I'm going to pass this along to the wife (she's obviously the creative brains of our operation) and see what she thinks. I like the idea of having a little James Dean or Elvis with some sort of decorative background that shows pictures of some of the old Doo Wop motels. The wheels are in motion...
