Maybe he means the Pink Cadillac, think about 3800 Atlantic. Very nicely restored, a work in progress still.

I have never been to the Pink Cadillac but I think I remember seeing advertisements all over the boardwalk last year. I think I will stop by and check it out!

The "Doo Wop Diner" is on the Boardwalk.

Is that the former Ernie's Diner? I worked there for a few days a long time ago.

We hit the Pink Cadillac and Doo Wop Diner last summer, and had a good time at both.
I believe the PC is owned and operated by the folks who used to run the old Rio Coffee Shop, attached to the Rio Motel. It's very clean, well run, the people are very nice and the food is good (pretty large portions, actually).
The DWD has good burgers and great chocolate shakes. Oh yeah, and try the chili cheese fries. Really, what more could you want in a 50s-themed diner?
(Actually, one of my family's "highlights" of last summer happened at the Pink Cadillac, when my then one-year-old son decided to goose this poor young French Canadian waitress while she was taking our orders.
She turned around and gave me this LOOK, but then realized that it could not have possibly been me, given my position at the table. Deducting that it had to be my son, she gave this little half-smile and her face turned 10,000 shades of red. It was really funny...
I think she got a good laugh out of it also. At any rate, we tipped her well. She did a good job, and was a good sport after being harrassed by my son.)

Al, I thought the Pink Cadillac is owned by Lester Katsanis from the Quebec Motel, not the Rio. I may be wrong, but I've seen Lester in public talking about it, I think. Thom

Thom I think you're absolutely right Thom, but I could have sworn that there was also some connection between the Rio Coffee shop and the Pink Cadillac. Mr. Katsanis does indeed own the Pink Cadillac in addition to the Quebec, but did he also own (or at least operate) the Rio Coffee Shop? If not, then perhaps it was the staff from the Rio that was brought over to run the Pink Cadillac. I can't remember all the details now, but I'm sure there was some sort of connection along these lines. Does anyone else have any info on this?

Lester was from the Rio Coffee Shop AFAIK. I don't know what the ownership situation was over there, but maybe Carl Aspenburg rented the Coffee Shop to Lester? I don't know how many people from the old place went over to the Pink Cadillac Diner, but I imagine it had to be quite a few. I remember a commercial I heard on the radio one night in Wildwood last year for the Pink Cadillac, and they noted that it had "all your old friends from the Rio Coffee Shop", or something like that. I think there's also some other ads, possibly one of those large lit ones on the boardwalk, that mentions the connection with the Rio Coffee Shop.

Thanks a million, Martin. I remembered that there was some sort of connection, but couldn't recall exactly what it was.
