Anyone seen Beldon's Coastal Colors yet? If so any opinions?
I normally didn't like the place when it was being built but it is (at best) unique, not to mention costly! At least the vivid color scheme doesn't take away from the integrity of the surroundings. Other than that, I'm not sure what my own opinion is of the place!
I remember when they began working over there back in 2003 - which reminds me just how fast these buildings can go up.

Sorry about that! Now that I think of it I mispelled the name Beldon...It's actually BELLDON'S Coastal Colors.

I think it looks like a cruise ship; they shoulda built a bow at the Atlantic avenue end.

It sure as hell does resemble something - though I'm not sure what, exactly!

Is that the development off Atlanta. and Atlantic....in motel terms, where the empty lot used to be in between the street with the Lampliter, Mark IV, Catalina and the street with the Silver Beach, Tempo and Frontier? Haven't seen the buildings in action, but on paper...YIKES . I guess on a positive note, at least they appear not to be the generic neo-victorian crap that is going in everywhere else. Sigh....

when I went down to the crest last summer, I noticed that place. It reminded me of a ship...That use to be an empty lot for years. I do believe it was owned by the town N country....

I have had the opportunity to watch the evolution of the Coastal Colors complex, in various states of construction from beginning to completion.
I absolutely hated it at first, simply because of the shear SIZE of the place. Trust me, it’s HUGE!
More and more, however, I’m starting to tolerate (and perhaps even appreciate) it a bit more. As others have noted, it does have some character.
The complex does sort of resemble a large ship, and the varying, vivid color scheme is actually kind of neat. It definitely looks a lot better than your standard, run-of-the-mill condo structures.
I’m at least glad for that.

Looked at the website. Hmmm. Notice how there are NO grounds photos...because there aren't any grounds! I think they used every inch of those lots to put up those monstrosities (albeit fine quality monstrosities).

checked out the website too. I did notice there were no ground shots. Also, there are no ammenities for the kids. No playground, nothing. They did have the words "village green" like setting in there, whatever that means..

I actually don't mind this place so much. Like others said, at least it's different, and the colors help bring it to life. I just think it's too big for where it is. Something about the railings strikes me as looking plastiky. Still, it's OK. I really don't like the big place next to it though...
Are those $3 million wood & particleboard individual structures sitting close to the beach in front of the Coastal Colors building considered part of Belldon's?

I was just in costco and saw a 7 layer dip with the exact same colors. I was thinking, where have I seen this color before? I guess I can also post this under "things that remind you of wildwood."

What is a 7 layer dip?

It is one of those pre-made dips that you eat with tortilla chips. It has gaucamole, salsa, sourcream, bean dip etc. etc. Colors like the Beldon's Coastal Colored nightmare.
