Such a preservation forum! The celebration of 8 ("planned") hi-rises and neon signs that are only a half-dozen years old! Like I've said before, you're all developers as well. Hee-haw! (Rio burro) Cute, but is it really as hypocritical as you would suggest? I can't speak for anyone else, but I suppose the thought is that since the new world order is going to have it's way anyway, better that they do it in style instead of by way of ugly lack-of-character condos that you can find on any resort along the Mid Atlantic.

Was the (now older) woman that opened the old Acme when it was new also there for the opening of the new Acme? Martin, there was an elderly lady there yesterday who they said was the very first checker at the Wildwood Acme. Is that who you mean? Sorry didn't get her name.

Could be. I meant there was someone who I guess cut the ribbon on the previous Acme when it was new, either figuratively or literally, and wasn't sure if she would be there for the opening of the new store yesterday to do the same.

Basically, yes I agree with this. For instance, if the "Kona Lili" that was proposed by the DWPL was built where the Hi Lili and the Kona Kai once was, I don't think most would be as upset with what happened over there as we are now. Yes, I'd still miss the Hi Lili and the Kona Kai, and would rather have them, but IMO it would have been much more acceptable than what's going up in their place currently.
