So let's say they build the Nouveau Wave and have a club in there. What kind of live entertainment do you want to see booked? Which bands, singers, comedy acts... and/or other formats? Gotta love Chris Rock. Musically, a Béyoncé appearance would be fun for a broad swath of people, I suppose. Other than Béyoncé, I don't know, I've been lazy about following music the past year or so. Seems like pop music is going through one of those periodic arrested-development phases. Correct me.

Yeah, it (pop music) all started going downhill post 1990, or so it seemed. 80's music was (and still is) the best. I guess it depends what generation you grow up in. I'm sure some of you loved 50's and 60's like Elvis and Beatles. How about you, Kathi?

Oh, Robert, I don't think the '90s and '00s have been a musical basket case, by any means. There's a lot of stuff I've enjoyed ranging from Eminem to Nelly to Rob Thomas, and from Destiny's Child to Pink to Alicia Keys. But the past year or so, nothing has caught my ear, and the vocals on a lot of pop tunes have a geeky, whiny quality that reminds me of the acts my generation used to dismiss as "teenybopper." When I was a teenybopper myself, you belonged to either the Beatles camp or the Stones camp. I was very vocally the latter, always teasing the Beatles fans. My parents, bless them, were actually brave enough to let me go with a friend to see the Stones in Asbury Park in '66, or maybe it was '65, can't remember which anymore. We had phenomenal fourth-row seats... They remain my all-time favorite. The Stones in Wildwood? Died-and-gone-to-heaven-dot-com. I also dearly love the Allman Brothers Band but they're probably wearing very thin by now--they were already getting a bit lame when I saw them maybe 10 years ago at the Beacon Theater, a small venue on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Loved Bob Dylan, but can't see him in Wildwood . I enjoy most of what is generally referred to as "classic rock," but my favorite genre is classic soul/R&B. A lot of those artists can still kick butt, too. Groups like the Stylistics would fit Wildwood, I think. Bruce in Wildwood obviously works

IIRC, The Stylistics did perform in Wildwood this past year, or at least Russell was there...

When I was growing up it was either Kiss or Led Zep. Most of the time if you loved Kiss you got picked on. If you loved Led Zep then you were very cool. Then came the 80s and it was thge hair band movement! Motley Crue, Poison, Tesla, Winger, Cinderella, Whitesnake, Ozzy, great white, White lion, Bullet Boys, La Guns, Fire House, and so much more........... Does anyone still listen to those bands?

I still listen to Ozzy, the Crew, and Poison once in a while. I loved the hair bands to a point but the it became over run by one-hit wonders. I was really big into the second British invasion.
