SPRING TERM 2006: MARCH 20 - MAY 26
NEW! 06SHPW30 Preserving the Recent Past: The Wildwoods
(PLAN/CONS) 1.2 CEUs. Preserving the recent past is a big challenge. Using the Wildwoods as a case study and laboratory, this two-day workshop introduces participants to the recent past resource - what is it, what's significant, how to assess integrity and deciding what to preserve. On the first day, the class fully explores the planning, zoning, and regulatory issues affecting and challenging the preservation of the Wildwood Shore Resort Historic District. The second day is devoted to understanding the actual preservation and conservation issues of recent past materials and structures. Class is conducted in a classroom setting with an outdoor tour and field work.
Class begins 11 a.m. on Saturday and will finish up approximately 3 p.m. on Sunday. Registration includes two-day workshop, one breakfast and two lunches. Dinner to be held Saturday at 6 p.m. (cost no included in tuition) followed by an evening workshop at 7:30 p.m.

Cost: $295
Tuition cost does not include hotel accomodations. Students are responsible for making their own reservations for overnight lodging. As a convenience to our students, we have blocked a number of rooms at the Starlux Boutique Hotel at discounted rates.

Special rates available to our students cannot be guaranteed after February 15, 2006 and/or after the reserved block of rooms has been filled.
