So far I'd say weve been pretty active.
Petetions (how are they going?)
E-mails to motel owners/contractors
I believe it is imperitive that if we can't stop more motels from going this winter that we assure that this is the last Winter of destruction for condos.
Anymore ideas on what we can do to help?

Can we get more motels on the National Historic Register?

I'm not sure how that all works. But the Loli-Pop and the Caribbean are Prime candidates I'd think.

Well, so many motels have come down, and many, many more are on the chopping block. Sadly, there really isn’t much we can do about it.
However, I think we should continue to write to the motel owners whose properties are still in operation. Let them know how much we appreciate what they do, and encourage them to look into the renovation/potential expansion possibilities that some of the upcoming zoning changes will offer.
Additionally, I have started to really focus on writing to various developers, encouraging them to at least consider the possibilities and potential rewards to building neo-Doo Wop motel and hotel structures in line with the island’s historical character and spirit, as opposed to the same old, bland, cookie-cutter condos that have become the norm.
There are still scenarios out there that could work. When a classic motel is demolished and a standard condo is built in its place, so much is lost. If these structures were replaced with new, Doo Wop-style buildings, however, it could be a win-win situation for all involved.

I wish Morey's would consider creating a new boutique hotel, or partnering up with another organization to make one. The Starlux was a great way to show that the Neo-Doo Wop boutiqe hotel would work when Wildwood was in dispair, we need a new one to proove the neo doo-wop motel will work admist the mass demolition of older motels. New, correctly designed low-rise boutique hotels would be wonderful for Wildwood, unfortunately, no one has attempted to try it out yet. If only I had money.
I agree Al, the best thing to do is to talk to remaining motel owners, local government, and developers.
