I also like Seaside, though I haven't been up that way in a few years now.
It reminds me of Wildwood a bit, with its carnival, "honkey tonk" boardwalk and overall atmosphere.
It's definitely my favorite of the "North Jersey" shore towns.

Point Pleasant is pretty nice as well, especially if you have little kids. Their boardwalk is clean and well cared for. The famous Jenkinson's Pavillion is still there and they serve some really great pizza as well as regular boardwalk foods.
Where Seaside is like the little sister to Wildwood, Point Pleasant is like the little sister to Ocean City, NJ - only it's not a dry town.
