From yesterdays 98.6thecoast website
12/21/05 - North Wildwood Council Approves Seaport Pier Plan -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The North Wildwood city council met Tuesday night and approved a plan that will result in a brand new redevelopment zone for the city. The new zone is actually the old Seaport Pier, a shopping pier on the city's boardwalk that has struggled financially for a few years.
North Wildwood mayor-elect Bill Henfey told us that the creation of the zone basically allows the city to choose what it wants to do with the pier, and many proposals are expected. Henfey says this allows the city to choose what it wants, and not have to take the high bid.
City leaders in North Wildwood will take their time before making a final decision.
Looks like they're taking their time, guess it won't happen by this coming summer?

Thanks for the posting. I always thought that pier had so much potential. It will be nice to see it up and running again.

Yes---that pier always seem to have some sort of smell. The few shops there were not too bad. I use to get some nice Corona shirts and shorts at good prices. Hopefully they will find something positive to do with it.
