Here's some of Morey's 2006 contributions, some of the stuff sounds pretty darn exciting. Expecially the Nor' Easter, I'm sure it will look phenominal with the brand new LED/HID lighting system against the night-sky. Other new info shown including the Piers reverting back to their old names, Phloom getting a under-boardwalk retheme, new stores, and over 100 pier speakers being added. The Sea Serpent is even getting silenced to make it quieter than before! Check it out: www.moreyspiers.com/new_thrills.htm

Thanks for posting the update... its been awhile since I last went onto the Morey's website. The changes to the Great Nor'Easter sound awesome! The only thing that I dont like is the silencer on the Sea Serpent - I love hearing that ride - it adds to the excitement of being on the boardwalk.

Sounds good - thanks! They're even bringing back the Surfside name! Nice to see Mariners will have its old name again - I never stopped calling it that.

The name change is a good idea....but they neglected to call Fun Pier by its former name.....FUN PIER.

The name change is a good idea....but they neglected to call Fun Pier by its former name.....FUN PIER. Thats because the moreys still dont know what to do with this pier. They still seem to be confused about its future! Moreys Fun pier should be its new name. That would cover all areas and then they could do anything with future development.

Looking forward to the changes. It should add some additional excitement to the boardwalk experience.

That is good news with some new additions. Finally some good lighting on the Nor Easter and a good sound system on the pier as well. If only they could do SOMETHING with the old Hunts Pier so it is part of the grand plan!

It's amazing that nothing has been done with Hunt's Pier. That area anymore is such a dead sectino of the boardwalk. I can bemember the early 80's being very young and walking through Hunt's Pier and being able to compare it to Disney World, only, I thought Hunt's was better. I also remember the late 80's and early 90's and how dead the pier was. I can recall telling my mom and dad I didn't want to go there cuz Hunt's wasn't what it used to be and that the new Hunt's pier sucked. I would never have imagined that Hunt's Pier would end up as it is now. It was awesome years age. I still look upo and see the empty white sign that used to advertise the pier and Skyline Golf and think....Man its so unbelievable that there is no more Hunt's in Wildwood. But who knows, maybe some day the Morey's will redevelop the pier and open it up to bring it back to its glory days.

But who knows, maybe some day the Morey's will redevelop the pier and open it up to bring it back to its glory days. I have been very upset that nothing has been done with (what was known as) Hunt's Pier. My grandfather would be so disappointed that all of his hard work is (almost) all gone. What once was such a great attraction on Wildwood boardwalk has now become a storage pier and home to Go Karts... how pathetic. What's really a shame is that we all are STILL waiting for the Morey's to let us know what they plan to do with the Nugget. I realize that is a HUGE FINANCIAL undertaking to make Hunt's Pier operational but didn't the Morey's expect this when they purchased the pier? I fear they are waiting way too long to get things moving and there might not be much time left for the Nugget. I'll be the first to admit I know NOTHING about how to run an amusement pier / park but I'd do everything I could to bring back the rides that made Hunt's such a magical place. There OBVIOUSLY is a demand for these rides and I'm sure locals, visitors, tourists, etc. would pay to be given the OPPORTUNITY to experience Hunt's Pier again. Our LAST CHANCE is the Nugget and I'm praying this ride can survive. For me, it's like the only remaining iconic structure that reminds me of my grandfather... if it's gone, there's no reason for me to visit Wildwood. Sorry to get sentimental but it's hard when it hits this close to home for me.

I understand where you are coming from. I feel in my own opinion, that the Morey's purchased the pier simply to ensure no one would compete with them. To me, it seems as though there are no real plans for the pier. I believe it is home to nothing more than go karts and the Morey's paint shop. It's such a shane that once a great pier is now storage in the middle of the boardwalk. Pointless and so wrong.

It does not look like anytime soon. Do something with the Nugget, because I agree that pretty soon you will not be able to save it, its already been closed for 8 years.

Hunt's will always and forever be number one, if only in my memory. Great place and great memories. The nugget needs to be restored, not wasted like so much in the WW's.

Just a question.....when is the Hunts Pier site going to be up and running? Well, I was hoping the site would be up and running by now but a lot has happened in the past few months. (With the holidays, being sick for most of December, creating my own Christmas / New Years / Holiday Card, starting a new job, working on logos for my sister's business, etc., I honestly haven't had the time I wanted to devote to building the Hunt's Pier website.) I need to update the home page and put up a more realistic launch date; which will more than likely be Spring/Summer 2006. I know that everyone is anxious to see it but as a designer, I can't "throw" something together overnight and be happy with it. It's going to take me a few months to do the things "I want to do" and I hope the end result will be something you all enjoy. Thanks so much for the interest and I apologize for the delay. -Kristen
