LOL..Oh my Gods...The Morey's want booze in the Water Park! "Com'on Kids! We're going to the waterpark for a few hours. You kids play in the splash pool and mom and me will have a few Mai Tais. Then we can drive over to Urie's for dinner...hic."

Hopefully a "virgin" bar. Last year the water park looked its age. Time for something new.

Well...it's said right in the story they wanted to ease the restrictions on alcohol in the amusement district...and IIRC last year the Morey's showed an interest in getting a liquor licence for the pier. I don't think they mean a 'virgin' bar.

I like it, judging from the article. Looks like it will turn out nice, IMO.

The demographics of the Island are changing. Time will tell if this is a good move. Certainly will set it apart from the others.

I think it's a good idea to differentiate the two Morey's water parks more.

Great idea, even greater having intoxicated Nor' Easter riders!

I'm listening live via phone to the NW Council Meeting tonight. The liquor license for the Morey's Raging Water didn't pass. It was given a first by Joe Duncan but no second so it failed. There was a large group and several speakers against the serving booze at the water park.

So do the Morey's still have a liquor license for the restaurant to be built on the Surfside Pier? Or are plans off for the restaurant?

Martin, this ordinance only involved Ranging Water. No mention was made of anything else.
