Just watched it. The park looks like it has still a lot of work to go. The protestors make way too big of deal out of these things. Phillies games are another fine example of both mixing together. The difference is, the drinks in Oasis will be high-priced and limited to certain areas. I can't see the concern for all of the abuse statements, as I have been to many Phillies games and haven't seen one alcohol related incident. (Now the Eagles games are a different story) As long as people drink like responsible adults, everything will be peachy.

Just returned from the NWW Council Meeting. It passed 5-2, lots of media was there. It was SRO and very hot! I was there too. Only I made the point to get there over an hour early. I knew that if they weren't going to relocate the meeting to the rec, it was going to be a complete madhouse. I was in the third row, last seat on the right. Thom

Just saw it on the news. Lots of locals are very upset. Phil, Yes a lot of locals are upset but I think a larger number of locals are extremely happy because of the progress the moreys are trying to make and the upgrades. With respect to their opinions, and I got the same answer from a few other people, not one of the protestors had a logical argument why it shouldn't happen. IMO, Every single one of them can be refuted but most of the protestors just don't want to hear anyone's opinion but their own. (Most, but not all). Thom

I kinda like the idea to tell you the truth. Its not going to be the pier, only a section of the water park. After all, Disney has it in Magic Kingdom, why not in Wildwood. If it gets to the point where its to out of hand, that will be the end of it. Moreys Piers is paying ALOT to the insurence companies, and if something was to happen, that would be the end.

Thom, I got there 30 minutes before, I was out in the hallway, but I had a comfy chair right by the speaker. You are so right, many refused to listen to reason, their minds were made up. Some of their logic was totally illogical. I felt many who were opposed didn't understand exactly what was up for approval last night. Others were totally misinformed about the entire operation.

Belmar does not have ANY alcohol on the boardwalk... if you did, you'd be spending the night in the BelmarPD station. Then again, Belmar doesn't have a "boardwalk" to begin with.
